Which Star Trek Character are you?

Not well.

Totally. What characteristics would you use to describe Sisko, Kira, Odo, Dax (Jadzia, please, none of that Ezri stuff), O’Brien, Bashir? Would you change the parameters to get Worf?

Its Reading Rainbow…Dont take my word for it…

It seems you tied between the hair you have and the hair you aspire too…

You are skilled in knowledge and logic.
You believe that the needs of the many
outweigh the needs of the few.

How did they know?
I do believe there are many women who need a good meld (IYKWIM) and that outweighs my need to sleep.

i get

Deanna Troi 80%
Spock 67%
Data 61%
Geordi LaForge 60%

but none of that matters, because of the darn Redshirt 85%

so… darn, i am a redshirt

You’re in good company. Most us are wearing that shirt.

It’s a nice shirt. Doesn’t ride up.

And the blood stains (oh, and there will be blood stains) don’t really show…

It’s practical. Well, as practical as you can get in a world wtihout pockets or purses…

Damn, I’ve got to get my “Redshirts” (Enterprise Bowling League) shirts in order. Anyone interested?

Uhura’s shirt is red, too. Except for when it’s yellow.

Gold, my dear, gold. (Although a friend of mine tells me they’re actually greenish, to compensate for the camera tech at the time.)

Moisturizing is very important.

You’re a leader and completely expendable. You’re George W. Bush!

bah. Anyone can reverse polarities…

Ah, yes, Deanna’s beautifully flowing curly locks…

sigh

Too bad you can only meld with them once every seven years. :stuck_out_tongue:

For as long as you’ll be wearing it…

Assuming the horrible death you experience causes bleeding instead of vaporization or disintegration or dissolving or crushing or smothering or salt-deprivation or…

Who needs to carry stuff when anything you need materializes at will?

I woke up in the middle of the night last night for some reason (probably cuz I went to bed too early.) And I turned on the TV and watched most of the Star Trek episode “The Doomsday Machine”, and since I didn’t want to wake anyone up—and also because I thot it might be interesting to do so—I watched it with the sound muted. Because I’ve seen it a zillion times, there was no need to hear the dialouge or anything.
One thing that suprised me was how noticable that Uhura is absent from that episode. I know she never has a lot of lines, but you get used to seeing her on the bridge. There was some blonde lady in the short shirt red uniform at Uhura’s comm station.

One insight I had watching it, is that Star Trek: Original Series----more than any other Trek series was really at the core center around the Captian making decisions. With the sound off, you find yourself thinking…“yup, right there Kirk made in important decision.” And so after—“Yup, everyone is poised waiting for Kirk to make a decision.” And even with the sound off, you see vividly that the action starts moving because Kirk made a decision. And this particular episode also has an added layer where Commodore Decker is making decisions too—bad ones mostly.
Interesting. (well, interesting to me…sorry for rambling on …)

thot, I recently saw DDM–the remastered version–and holy craaaap! the planet killer looks a lot scarier. very cool. your thots?

I TiVoed DDM from TV Land channel (I think), and I was hoping that it was the remastered version. But it wasn’t. I don’t think I’ve seen the remastered DDM.

One of the Trek online fan film groups Star Trek New Voyages centers around the Doomsday device. And Commodore Pike makes an appearance in it too.
Even though it’s a fan (amateur) created episode, the computer generated effects —like the Doomsday device—is magnitudes better than what 1960s TV could do.

One time, I was at a party. It was late and Star Trek was on the TV. It was muted. I was bored and drunk. All these people were buzzing around, chatting it up. I was sitting there mumbling the dialogue from the episode, ‘Amok Time’. People would walk by and give me strange looks especially with lines like:

‘Haven’t you always wondered?’

‘I guess the rest of us assumed that it’s done…quite logically’

A good friend had come back from a Taco Bell run and sat next to me. “What’s up?” I continued to voice the dialogue. He goes, “You know that.” I just nodded. He goes, “That’s awesome.”

That friend is no longer with us. I miss him deeply.

You are a romantic at heart and a natural leader.

How could that happen???

I knew I liked you. O Captain. Our Captain.

Yeah just don’t make any moaning noises when you say. People might look in our direction…
