Maybe a compromise would be to have the actress, (assuming Uhura’s character remains female) have a scene where she’s off duty in a fantastically short mini. A rec room 3-d chess tourney, or she could sing a bit a la the original Uhura (TOU), just a nice, quick homage to the original series that the officionados could point to and be happy about…I still think it would be weird to have everyone else on the bridge with their pants tucked into their boots while Uhura sits there constantly trying to pull her skirt down…plus, those pleather bridge seats cannot be comfortable to bare skin, the poor kid’s thighs are going to stick to everything ! So, a quick mini scene would be OK with me.

Nah - I say mini. Not just cuz Zoe is impossibly hot and could pull it off easily…but if we are doing prequel it’;s gotta be about the mini. And he did wear stockings…so she wont stick to the rich corinthian leather of the bridge seats. LOL

But I agree, there should at least be a line in there like “Ok, where’s the rest of it?”

I believe Audra’s point about switching the wardrobes of men and women is made with that pic.

Personally I’d be more annoyed if they didn’t do it, pandering to political correctness like that is mad, especially when you mascarade it as some sort of feminist empowerment movement when most shows make Uhura’s outfit look large and frumpy nowadays. It’s a harmless bit of fun, the character is a strong independant woman, who makes a much better role model for women than wags (footballer’s wifes) or Paris Hilton.

Also changing it would bring much more attention to the issue than not changing it.
