Nah, I’m sure his plan was our plan.
This plan, the crazy one, is Plan B.

I vote Badger and 'Talos as MTSK:The Next Generation. You two crack me up.
I preferred the probe in the original. This one looks like the light over a dentist’s chair.
The ol’ mirror trick. Gets 'em every time.
shiver
Don’t make the drill noise. Don’t make the drill noise!!
They look like the aliens from ‘Independence Day’.
Hey. Maybe you know. What’s the deal with the red roots?
Ooh! Can I be Tom Servo?
Mars obviously has no reflective surfaces.
Yeah, I thot so too.
It doesn’t come off Lady Macbeth.
Awww, we haz fans.
The red weed was mentioned in the book. I think it’s supposed to be one of the native plants of Mars. Like I said earlier, they’re martiforming the Earth, making it more like the Martian environment. Humans will do the same sort of thing someday, if we ever manage to colonize other worlds.
Think you hate humanity up 'til this part. Well, Tom killing Tim nails that deal. No doubt in my mind. We ain’t worth saving.
That’s the message I got from this film. Humans suck.
That “eye” was squirting blood. The aliens are cylons! The Larrys are back.
Are they using human blood to do that? I guess that’s where I’m confused.
Um, I never read the book. Bad 'talos.
Not to mention…
How was he so certain that he’d be able to do it? Tim Robbins probably has a good 50 pounds on him, he’s at least half a foot taller, and apparently his character had some military training.
Is Ray a government assassin?
I haven’t read it since I was a kid, but I think that’s what the red mist was supposed to be: watering the crops.
ETA: Red Weed
This film has a more destroyed world feel to it. The '53 version, the cities still looked pristine.
“Look at the birds…”
The sheriff is a nah…
I really want to hear the Orson Welles radio thing. I gotta get on that.
Pretty sure that '50s audiences couldn’t deal with rivers full of bodies.
