Maybe the Cycle can’t be stoped, maybe the point of the great plan is not to stop the cycle at all. It is possible that the great plan is to merely to survive it.

I’m still wondering, how did Baltar survive the nuclear blasts? I know it’s one of many questions, but considering how prominent his character was in the original series, and how… benign he has become (love you Gaius), how did he survive, and what happened to the opera house and Head-Six (and Head-Baltar for that reason)?
EDIT: Also, how is Starbuck connected to all of this. If she is the 7, then how would she be resurrected, and placed back in the fleet? If she isn’t, then how did she get copied - and get a new Viper - and come back to the fleet?
I am still at a loss as to how Baltar survived, the radiation should have done him in. The only thing I do know is he wasn’t hit by the direct Nuclear blast but by a shock wave of wind created by the blast. His survival was not due to Six blocking or shielding him that is impossible and has never even been hinted at.
Starbuck isn’t one of the Models, Anders tells her that and tries to assure her that if he knew her answers he would tell her. Starbuck, it apears, is the child of her mother and Charles. Her connection I believe has to do with her relationship to the Cylons, as a sort of Hybrid like Hera. The key to her resurrection is the answer we all want. I think it is possible that Starbuck was resurrected by one of the Kobol Lords or at the very least a part of the Great Cycle. Had she not been there the fleet would have not found Earth, so some how she is part of the greater plan that we still have not been told about.
