“That’s funny. The phone is not on the same circuit.”
Thanx for explaining that to the 50s audience. They’re stoopid.

The power lines on that matte painting are down…
Oh nevermind.
Love the sound effects. I gotta make some ring tones.
What is Dr. Speculation smoking? I want some.
To be honest, a lot of the aliens of this time were much more alien than many of the aliens of modern sci-fi, like Trek and their slight facial deformities.
One has to wonder if maybe the Martians really did come in peace, but, through an unfortunate coincidence, the people of Earth greatly insulted them with their unprovoked waving of a white flag, one of the most obscene gestures possible on their planet.
The sounds of the flyers are some of the best ever, not to mention the physical props themselves. Truly inspired, even if it does deviate from Wells’ tripod walkers.
Um, call the casting director. Yes, we need a woman in the script. She has to serve coffee.
They always think they can stop the aliens. Always.
That’s not fair to minimize her like that.
I’m sure she did a lot of ironing and mopping, too, just not onscreen.
“They’ll probably move at dawn.”
What gives you that idea? Ohhhhh, it’s more dramatic. I get it. Flashy aliens.
Bullets don’t work? Need more bullets!
That looks frakkin cool. I’m a sucker for old style SFX.
Wouldn’t high noon be more appropriate?
pat pat That’s a good girl.
Can’t wait to hear Audra’s comments.
Oh, now she’s hysterical. I’m giggling like a madmen.
This is some frightening stuff. Bet this gave kids nightmares.
Not me. I’ve loved this movie as long as I can remember.
Really liked the flyover and crash in the propeller plane. The alien spacecraft off to the right hand of the screen. That was cool.
I first saw it before the re-make came out.
Aww, look how peaceful she sleeps.
You’re kidding, right? It’s a sci-fi classic!
