The Invasion (2007) 1/26 @ 8 PM ET

And Zombies again.

“There’s no room in our world for someone who’s immune.”

Now it’s all action. This is heading toward vaccine…we’ll see.

This whole car chase was added later in reshoots. Nicole Kidman broke ribs while filming it.

Of course, vaccines only prevent infection. If you’re already infected, though…

“Pick up a newspaper, for better or worse we’re human again.”

Ha! I was on the right track. The human race needs an alien invasion.

Spoken like Ozymandias himself.

For a minute there I thot it was gonna end with her getting a dart filled with sleepy stuff and the marines shooting the kid.

Not saying I agree but that seem to be the message of the film.

That ending really spoke to me, particularly how the people were infected instead of replaced. They were still human; they just didn’t slaughter each other for no reason. They still went about their lives, just without the stress and conflict that we accept as ordinary.

Not to mention that the victims weren’t already dead — so she personally killed dozens of people.

Yeah, me too. Until he smiled, I think that was supposed to be the point.

The most shocker of the bunch was the 1978 film.

Yeah, I saw that when I was a kid. Freaked me right the hell out.

Yeah, me too. It was very unsettling.

This film, on the other hand, is like ‘We (meaning us or U.S.) can handle anything’. Terrorist, HIV, Bird Flu, Alien virus, we can save humanity from every threat foreign or domestic. We just need Mountain Dew and Pepsi and children willing to stab their mothers in the heart.

The mother-stabbing is easily the most important aspect of the whole endeavor.
