The Godfather, Part III 8/3 @ 8 PM ET

Yeah, Darwin had 8 kids of which most turned out OK. Then again the British often seem a little inbred, so its hard to tell if there was much of an effect…

Really? Hmmm, scratch that.

Well, it is an island. There’s only so much genetic diversity they could muster.

The dude’s no Juan…

So is that tune really a Scicillian folk song that was used by FFC’s dad as the basis of the score, or did they just use the score to make a folk song…

I don’t think the books are really bad per se, I think they’re just pulpy and don’t rise to the level of high art like the first two movies. I’m sure they’re still an entertaining read…

It was written for the first flim.

“Well, I’m beyond redemption”

Spoken like a true ego-manic.

“Your sins are terrible. You deserve to suffer.”

I like this Cardinal.

My wife just interrogated me for how I knew the ‘cousin of a clog’ is a ‘sabot’ from Sunday’s NY Times crossword puzzle. Once I told her that Valaris from STVI tells the story of workers throwing their wooden shoes into the machinery and hence the term ‘sabotage’ my wife was placated…

Why would you think that the ones in power would be legit?

That. Is. Wonderful.

Nice touch then to add words and turn it into a folk song…

I hope that you pronounced “sabotage” in the proper Shatneresque manner.

Yes, the wife is always happy to learn that I’m not actually smarter than she is…

I was thinking it. I’m glad you said it.

The church made it into all three films.

SA… …-bo-TAGE!

I think there were words in English on the soundtrack for that movie. The version in this movie probably just a translation.

Even since I was a kid, I’ve known the song as “Speak Softly Love”, but it was never played at any of the Sicilian weddings or funerals that I’ve ever attended.

Oh Kay! Stop being so self-righteous.

Difficult to separate Catholicism from old-school Sicily.
