Chiaki sounds like a futuristic name.
Really? Seriously? d:
Beautiful still shots.
I may be mistaken but I think this is the Japanese voice actress first gig.
Why are Japanese fathers always clueless about their daughters in anime?
I forgot she had the counter reset to 1…
Because their daughters don’t matter to them?
I forgot she had the counter reset to 1…
And how did that happen?
Time paradox. Technically it should be 0 I think because she remembers using the counter. But, I think the writers wanted a happy ending.
Kind of weird that his counter didn’t reset too. Inconsistent.
Really, that’s poor city planning. Why would you put a train crossing at the bottom of a hill, in a culture where many, many people use bicycles?
I always thought that the woman at the museum had something to do with her counter resetting. She seemed to have way too much information, IYKWIM.
Some of the best blubbering in anime. Ugly, and more realistic… Not cute or funny…
I think I need to watch this one again sometime. I’m kind of confused.
I may be misremembering, but I think she has a side story novel.
‘you throw like a girl’… snicker
I watched it twice in one sitting the first time I think.
Edit: I definitely watched Summer Wars twice.
Bewildered, she consults throughout the film with her ‘Auntie Witch’ (Sachie Hara/Saffron Henderson), who is implied to be Kazuko Yoshiyama, the protagonist of the original novel.

Two different entries.

2010 film
A third Japanese live-action film adaptation of Toki o Kakeru Sh?jo (???)[4] was announced in Yahoo Japan and released on March 13, 2010. The theme song of the film will be performed by Ikimono-gakari. The movie features Riisa Naka, who previously voiced the protagonist Makoto Konno in the 2006 animated film, as the lead character, Akari Yoshiyama, the daughter of Kazuko Yoshiyama.
I just watched the english version of Summer Wars today. MUCH easier to follow than that crappy chinese version I have, you could not turn off the chinese subtitles. So the subtitles overlapped and covered up a third of the picture, not to mention that the menus were almost impossible to navigate. For quite awhile I thought the DVD was flawed because I could not get the movie to start, I had to pixel hunt and click on al kinds of crap to get it to finally start.
Anyways the english version RULZ!
Summer Wars next week? (:
Too bad I watched it two weeks ago. But, I’ll give it a 4th run.
I would be up for watching it again.
I was frustrated because she was constantly jumping and yet never created any paradoxes. Or ran into herself, she seemed to be creating alternate timelimes rather than recrossing the same ones.
