Smoke and no smoke counts as 2. d:
I’m counting jumping out the window.
So on Mondays? Chase got cancelled?
Ill stick with the show for a few more episodes. I wont take it serious…also i dont think it will last
Yeah, poor Summer…
It got Event’s timeslot. I think Event isn’t coming back for a couple extra months.
Cancel that. Same two episodes.
There’s definite room for improvement but I like it. I’m gonna stick with it for now.
I kind of liked it, especially the style and the look of it (being distinctly very earnest and comic like), though I have to say as a completely shallow first impression, not a fan of the actor playing the lead guy. Not sure if he fits that brooding tortured superhero type, and I actually found him kind of annoying at times. Give me more Summer! (or the circus dudes, I like them too). Also, is it just me, or does the first 2 eps feel a bit rushed? Maybe I’m just too used to that fun period of time at the beginning of every super hero show/movie when the guy starts out and slowly realizes his potential. Here, all we got was a short montage of his training, and suddenly, he’s ‘The Cape’?
I’ll watch a few more episodes to see.
If The Cape is really our new hero, then America is doomed
Superheroes have often served as metaphors for American power. In World War II, they punched Hitler. In the Vietnam era, they agonized. And so on. So what does The Cape, NBC’s latest superhero show, say about America? Basically, we’re screwed.
The author doesn’t seem to be a fan…
I loved it. It’s just like a comic book on TV. It certainly isn’t deep like BSG, but not every show has to. The way I see it, the show only needs to be as deep and serious as Chuck. It’s fun and campy and they know it. Summer looks amazing. I lover her rushing out to take the chicken away. I also love the bad guy’s laugh at the end.
I think by the second episode Vince knows he isn’t skilled enough to take Chess. So instead of going at it in the kitchen, he just wants Chess to know he is watching him. It is kind of like Superman and Lex Luthor. Superman knows Lex is a bad guy, for a long time he simply foils Lex’s plans without being able to put him away.
As for that review, it’s funny he didn’t make fun of the blogger aspect of the show, I guess because he is writing a blog himself. And I’d rather watch The Cape than Season 4 of Heroes.
I am not too worried about the show under-performing for now. Chuck was in the same place when it started, and it has gotten very far. Since the Cape will be running along with Chuck, maybe more Chuck fans will also watch The Cape.
It did give the ComicBookGuy superpowers.
