Tagline Throwdown

Big trouble in little china?

Too easy?

Your turn.

Love that movie even if I haven’t seen it in a while. Must have seen it at least 6 times on TV.

Amazing! terrifying! The most savage spectacle of all time!

King Kong?

No, but good guess.

That was my only guess too. I cheated. I totally wouldn’t have gotten it. :frowning:

Think it’s too hard?

No, it’s just got a very King Kong vibe to it.

It’s not impossible that someone would guess it. Just not me. :stuck_out_tongue:

George of the Jungle :stuck_out_tongue:

My first guess would be King Kong too!

But anyway, very old timey vibe to it, so…

It came from Outer Space?
War of the Worlds?
Them?
Invasion of the Body Snatchers?

I’ve got an image of a woman in loin cloth being looked at in a cage…it has a 1920/30’s feel to it.

I was afraid I’d have to give hints for this classic, but the hive mind came through.

Nice shotgunning there. You’re up.

Woohoo!

OK, something more contemporary:

First film of the year

Year One?

I got nothing on this one. Way too vague for me to guess.

I’m guessing it was released on January 1 of some year.

Enjoy the adventures of CAPTAIN OBVIOUS!!

No clue here. Movies opening around that time gets jumbled together with other holiday movies opening earlier for me.

Nope.

It’s a little misleading since it was released on Jan 1st…in its country of origin, at least. (but definitely had been released in the US, UK and a bunch of other countries, probably NOT Jan 1st.)

another tagline from the same movie:
The second chapter in the epic fantasy trilogy

I don’t think the third movie has been released yet. And this tagline is also a little misleading because the books from which the movies are based on is actually a ‘tetralogy’, not a trilogy.

Final clue… this movie is pretty recent, within the past 5 years.

Harry Potter? No, that has more than 4 books.
Not LotR…?
Twilight…? New Moon rather.

I dunno what countries you’re referring to.

28 weeks later? Daywatch?
