I’m glad they dropped the various armed forces distinctions between the teams. That created more tension than was really necessary for the story.
It’s light enough for them to see without the night vision gear.
Not to mention that they have flashlights. It’s just dark, not light-sucking darkness incarnate.

It was semi-realistic though. And they brought it back with the Russians.

Being a former Air Force person that worked at a joint service base, it may have been more tension than the story needed, but it’s not inacurate.
