Wow. Just, um… wow.
I’m glad I didn’t watch that at work.

I watched this at work and since there be no sound allowed, I didn’t get it. I just watched it from home and got it. I love the part when viewscreen lights up and Kirk flinches. There was a whole bunch of viewscreen watching in that film. Very clever idea and quite envigorating.
McCoy is my favorite part there.
Absolutely. The fact that he comes in, looks and leaves is priceless. When he then returns with Chekov made me laugh out loud.
Aside from being pricesslessly funny, I watch that and I can imagine a director seeing this and saying—hey, this would be a great technique to get actors to react in a unique way.
Me too! Absolutely the best part.
It was surprising to me how long it took for me to react to how loud the sounds were. It went a good minute before I realized that my neighbors couldn’t see what I was watching and would assume something altogether different. Particularly considering how much I was laughing.
Wow, you ask a simple question and get so much more… I need to run out to the store and buy some cigarettes even though I don’t smoke.
well, it depends on what trek’ and wars’ we are talking about here. The best would be star wars 3 or 5, agienst next generation or voyager. and i think next generation, and episode 3. can’t decide which though.
LOL I posted that vid over in the Star Trek section. I never thought to look here of all places to see if the vid was already posted. Check out Sulu’s reaction on the money shot. This vid has had me laughing for days.
That’s a great idea. Like one of those ESPN best of all-time things. Let me see, I can’t format this into a grid…or can I? Solai? Anyone?
We’ll start with the less popular (of course this is a matter of opinion but I’ll try)
Animated VS. Episode I
Enterprise VS. Episode II
Voyager VS. Episode VI
Star Trek VS. Episode III
Deep Space Nine VS. Episode IV
The Next Generation VS. Episode V
your lineup has all but guaranteed a draw in each bout–well done, talos!
Next Gen and DS9 are interchangeable for me. Either one could hold their own against Ep IV or V. I went with Next Gen in the top spot since it had to deal with more adversity than DS9, yet I feel DS9 as a series was much better.
Ok I’ll give this a go…
Order is least to best.
Animated VS. Episode I
Voyager VS. Episode II
Enterprise VS. Episode VI
Star Trek VS. Episode III
The Next Generation VS. Episode IV
Deep Space Nine VS. Episode V
III better than VI?!?!?!?
granted the ewoks were silly, but come on!
I think Star Trek is awesome, having only fond memories of the original series. Seeing Star Wars IV on the big screen when I was a kid was fantastic and ranks up there on life’s list. Both franchises are deep and have flooded us with hours of techno dreams - some that are coming to fruition! But with all the greatness of the two…I’m going to take Star Wars as a world I would want to live in. Simply because they look comfortable in their everyday roustabout atire.
Why could’nt Capt. Picard get a frakking jacket that fit ??? And those darn jump suits everyone runs around in ST-NG…oh they look comfy snugging up on my Delta Quadrant. Where as Star Wars did give us the gold bikini…need I say more ?
Of course we Amish haven’t progressed beyond the “button” yet…but that is for another time.
I’m sorry the Final Dual and Palpatine push III above VI.
Star Wars wins because they have fighters and Star Trek only has shuttles (hardly a counter to X-Wings or TIEs)
I have to agree with that. Though I think Runabouts and the Delta Flier could put up a fight.
Here’s one
Deathstar VS. Genesis Project
Genesis Project is very green and hip now. So I’d have to go with that. It would get much backing.
Deathstar cost much overhead. It’s the size of a small moon!! Fighters, stormtroopers and cafeterias! Much too much overhead.
Bah, what a PC answer.
