but what else is Freud going to say? Penis envy?
Sometimes a positronic brain is just a positronic brain.
Somehow I doubt that the image of a telephone looking like that would survive to the 24th century. Most kids today have never seen one.
Deanna’s hair is really a mess today
Yay! I’m neurotic! Woohoo!
What can you expect? She’s made of cake.
Helpful Picard is helpful. Sort of.
but it’s in keeping with the imagery of the workers and Freud, no?
The way this is shot makes me think of Data skulking through the halls all ninja-like.
uh no, he’s not alright. at all.
oh no, not a music program for Alexander! muwahaha
“I will have to confiscate your sidearm.”
Um, Data’s stronger, faster, and smarter than anyone else on the ship. If he wanted to hurt anyone, the lack of a phaser isn’t going to stop him.
tell him he is a pretty cat, and a good cat
I will feed him.
LOL oh this is a fun scene with Worf and Data (and Spot!)
mmm, cellular peptides.
“Wif minth fostink.”
The thing about this episode that always bothered me is how the creatures are treated as a common infestation of vermin right from the start. They’ve never seen anything like them before, and there’s definitely a chance that they’re trying to communicate, considering the image of the workmen in Data’s dream, but no one, not even Picard, ever suggests that they might be intelligent. They just exterminate them outright, without a second thought. And yet, these are the same people who defended the right to life of sand and a giant life-sucking crystal. Just a very odd oversight, IMO.
Good point. Very un Star Trek of Picard to not consider them as life forms.
This episode was so weird and bizarre that it kinda lost my interest.
Agree with Badger. I always thought, um, are they sentient? OK sure they’re trying to kill you all, but really? It doesn’t seem to fit with the ethos.
