Star Trek: The Next Generation 5x14 Conundrum

oh hai ten forward, awk-ward!

Lissians? Ha! More like Sissy-ans.

Yup, “recycled” model.

The Sutterans and the Lisians, now condemed to the Never To Be Mentioned Again Galaxy.

My point exactly. Kirk would have killed Q in the pilot episode.

I do find ending on the Riker bit is a bit dissatisfying. Alas.

Yay! I made it!

Now off to bed, be well all.

Whoooooooooosh!

Harsh man.

Will Rikker’s little Will got him a bit of perdicament.

Altho in my opinion that’s exactly what Q was hoping for all those years.

IYKWIM

Wooooooosh? Casilda is The Flash?

Good nite Cas. Dream of Inception.

That explanation of MacDuff’s limitations is ludicrous. He could rewrite the computer of a Galaxy-class starship and selectively edit the minds of over 1000 people of dozens of species — not to mention a positronic android! — and was physically immune to less than three phaser blasts, and yet, the Lissians were beyond his ability to handle? I call bullshit.

Don’t make my head explode again. I’m still picking the grey matter out of my sweater.

Absolutely. He was a little more overt with Janeway and Riker, but Picard was always his first human crush, IMO.

Just because he’s technically advanced, he could still be lacking in manpower and ships and the like.

Yeah, it’s a little thin there to be sure.

The episode was a one-gag idea: the idea of everyone not know who they were. But at least it was a fun gag.

Or maybe they’re more of a parasitic type of species, using other species’ resources against them

Agreed Badger. You’d think a genetically engineered virus or something would be child’s play.

But why not take over one of the Lissian ships and use it as a Trojan horse? If a single photon torpedo could wipe out their space station, one of their warships could as well, I’d imagine. It’s just an annoying premise, and to handwave it away like it’s not is just poor writing. :frowning:

Maybe that’s why they’re at war? The Lissians are immune to their technology so they hate them. Wars have been started for far less.
