I like that Picard tries to adapt to the situation. I’ll bet other captains get too reliant on the Universal Translator to solve everything.
I always thot of Picard’s vest as a call-back to Kirk’s green tunic.
Poor Paul Winfield. Every character he ever played sacrificed himself to save a white character. :(
careful with the spoilers, dude. we’re not all TNG-versed
“Casilda, Talos, Togpun, Badger, Lady D and Thot on the Forum.” Take that for a metaphor meaning awesomeness.
It was Kirk boobalicious.
Oh! The Dougster hasn’t seen this one yet, right? Ah, to be seeing it for the first time.
awwwwwww!
SSWA
“Is there any way to get through to them?”
Um, Riker. Your prejudice is showing.
Picard can’t start a fire. giggle
I think The Gilgamesh Epic falls well within GWC’s spoiler policy.
I bet Rene would get quite a chuckle out of that.
Paul Winfield performs wonderfully. He really sells this. There are not many actors I think that could pull this off.
Data’s lucky he doesn’t have emotions. Otherwise, it might bother him to have Riker’s junk on his shoulder.
Yeah I was reading the memory alpha entry in our break and the bit about
how difficult it was to direct someone who spoke only in metaphors
seemed really interesting, and not something I had thought about
This is the first episode which introduces a new captain’s uniform: a gray undershirt with an open red jacket. Although the jacket has a black yoke like the standard uniforms, the yoke is made of a material that looks like leather and has a quilted pattern. Also, the red portion of the jacket is made from a material that looks like suede.
Educated guesses, Riker? I think I would hedge my bets and just call them guesses.
Random USS ENTERPRISE OPS officer: Oh no. Beta shift again? Is Riker on duty? I don’t want to handle OPS. Why does an android need a break anyway?
This episode marks the first appearance of the type 6 shuttlecraft.
