OK. I was wearing my Captain Kirk screaming KHAAAAAAAAN!! T-shirt today. Some counter-clerk starts mumbling, “Kha…Khaaaa…Khaaann…” When I look t him he asks, “Who is that? What is he saying?” Took me a moment to figure out whether he was just being sarcastic or not. I explained that it was Captain Kirk screaming KHAAAAAN!! from the Star Trek film Wrath of Khan.

I swear. Why are there not laws against such crimes?
A friend of mine got a similar reaction when he met a young co-worker whose last name was McGee. As any of us would no doubt do under the same circumstances, he said “Don’t make me angry, Mr. McGee. You wouldn’t like me when I’m angry.” Blank stare, followed by backing off quietly.
Poor kid was terrified of him from that point on and had no idea why.
