Star Trek: Generations 4/16 @ 10 PM ET

Ugh! Don’t even get me started.

Shatner explains it in his book a little better. He wanted Kirk to see something beyond and express his wonder for it. He is an explorer afterall.

Okuda sez:

He was always supposed to die. Soran was going to shoot him in the first draft. Test audiences thot it should be more dramatic.

Shatner wrote books that chronicle Kirk’s adventures after the events of this movie. He actually comes back to life in the 24th century.

Brent Spiner hates cats!

He didn’t want to do this scene. Glad they made him.

Yeah, too many katras in the brain can cause hair loss…
…um…Oooops.

The Borg bring him back.

What other type of fluids can Data produce now he has the Emotion Chip?

CaptPicard @Riker @Troi @Data @Gordie What the FRAK happened to my gods-damn ship!! I’m gone for like a half hour and…!!!

Picard signals the Farragut.

That was the first ship Kirk served on. Nice touch.

That was actually quite nice. Especially since I’ve seen all of TNG (and recently! little did I know, last fall… ;)), it was nice to see the characters I know almost best (that honor goes to DS9).

It’s a bit jarring though to go from TOS crew to the new crews - they’re just very different.

He does? When did that happen?

mind-meld aftermath–TNG episodes

And thereby ruining Ron Moore and Brandon Bragga’s theme (according to the commentary) for this movie.
The theme of “real death and loss” as opposed to “spock dies but not really”.

Troi @Riker You better not tell him I was driving otherwise no friends with benefits.

Don’t forget that there will always be a spare Kirk in the Nexus.

Evasive maneuvers?

Seriously?

Ask Tasha Yar.

I has another sad. :frowning:

Really guys. Is that what you wanted to do? Kirk fell down the stairs. Nice job. If you wanted to make a geriatric joke why didn’t you have Kirk say, “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up.”

Well, on that note, right now, I’m offically changing my avatar to a Next Gen uniform avatar.
Also in honor of Talos’s soon to happen 12,000th post!!!

Yep. I haven’t read it in a while. But at the time I was so stoked Kirk was coming back it could’ve been written by a four year old. So, I’ll have to re-read and let you know what I think of it now.

He didn’t have the chip back then. Maybe the Borg Queen will know, or even Geordi. What? They may workout together. IYKWIM

Yeah, I see your point there. :oKinda a Tasha Yar black goo kinda death.
I guess I should starting reading the Shat-Trek books.
