And here I thought you’d be distracted by the latent sexual tension here… meh.
“we were like the sons of…” oh, Garak

“we were like the sons of…” oh, Garak
I can do both!
You guys are sick.
The music compliments nicely here I think
They are. And they’re usually more restrained when I’m around. Meh.
Poor Garak. All his life he’s suffered under the taint of Tain.
You know the GWC discussion about how Star Trek has been really bad with the portrayal of woman characters? The tight tight outfits of T’Pol and Seven for examples. Well, I’m realizing that DS9 is just as guilty. Kira’s uniform doesn’t HAVE to be that skin tight.
In a way.
Also I find the limitation on information on the Cardassians and its effects are fascinating.
I’d just like to point out that I wasn’t the one who specified women. Virtually all of the sluts and prostitutes that I’ve ever known have been men. :eyebrow:
“I can see that Garak hasn’t changed a bit. Never tell the truth when a lie will do. That man has a rare gift for obfuscation. Doctor, Elim is Garak’s first name. Now run along home. And Doctor, tell Garak that I miss him.”
That was a shock the first time around.
I’m not sure that Kira is set up to be a visually “sexy” character like T’Pol and Seven, though. Also Dax’s uniform doesn’t seem to be cut in a dramatically different way than the other Starfleet characters.
Oh no, not another Cardassian novel!
“Doctor, Elim is Garak’s first name.”
Dun-dun-DUN!!!
And Garak’s little smile there at the end. perfect.
Great episode.
“My dear Doctor, they’re all true.”
“Even the lies?”
“Especially the lies.”
Yeah. That’s a fair point. With T’Pol and Seven it’s blatant.
And it is a plus that Dax has a normal cut uniform.
We’ll get to see “Sexy Kira” next week in “Crossover.”
And I’ve come to regard Kira as one of the sexiest female characters in Trek. She’s intelligent, passionate, tough, and attractive without flaunting it. Seeing her in the Starfleet uniform was a definate IBIMB moment for me.
When I was kid I didn’t think of Uhura as sexy, but looking back now she’s for sure the sexist in all of Star Trek for me.
WWJTKD? This is a Bones problem. Not his concern.
WWJTKD? Kirk would say “Is there a godlike being to deal with? Or an all powerful robot or computer? No? Okay. Then I’m outtah here.”
