Watching this now, catching up, and wondered if anyone realized that Dr Daystrom is The King of Cartoons from Pee Wee’s Playhouse!
In case anyone was wondering, Dr. Daystrom is pretty much The GF’s dad. A bit taller, though.
You are totally correct. I was at my cousin’s a whiles back and Pee Wee’s Playhouse was on. When The King of Cartoons walked in I said, “Dr. Daystrom!!” My aunt looked at me and asked, “Is he a professor or something IRL?” I answered, “Um…No…Star Trek.” She just sucked her teeth, rolled her eyes and said, “Geek.”
There’s a moment in this episode that always makes me laugh.
Dr. Daystrom is on the bridge and he’s starting to lose it.
And then McCoy says “Jim, he’s on the verge of a nervous breakdown.”
Hearing that, Kirk approaches Daystrom and shouts “You’re a murderer!!”
Yeah, good beside manner Kirk.
What’s he supposed to do? Cottle him?
