T’Pring is hot, but a total bitch. Yeah, I know this type of gal…broke my heart many a time.
T’Pring is such a Vulcan hottie but she got screwed being betrothed to the only half-Vulcan half-human in Starfleet. She’s bitter.
Oh, don’t make excuses for her. She’s bad news.
Glad I brought it up.
The Vulcan’s are a bit S&M, no?
Still, though, so very '60s. Sending Chapel out of the room?
They may have well said, “Nurse, would you mind? Men are talking.”
Heh heh - well, it’s good that Spock was able to hold on to his man-love and didn’t end up with her…!!
Definitely. Where’d they find the Vulcan guardsmen? Those guys were huge!
Spock won’t be horny again for another 7 years, so he’s all set.
Kirk on the other hand, he’s gonna need some action soon.
You’re right. Huh? Funny I never noticed that before. Re-watching these has been an education.
They borrowed Montalban’s chest.
Don’t believe me?
Check the credits.
Nah. It’s not.
I watched this this afternoon - and I had thots!

[li]Throwing soup??[/li][li]Vulcans are fallible I like that idea[/li][li]So much for Spock’s privacy… and a way to get some exposition in[/li][li]HALF-vulcan (what about Earth?)[/li][li]Take a wife or die? so much for Spock/Kirk[/li][li]“He’s my friend” awwwwwwwwwwww[/li][li]And now even Spock admits that they are his closest friends. More awwwwww.[/li][li]So THAT is T’Pring[/li][li]Hehe and T’Pau. Now I’m quite glad I read Spock’s World[/li][li]Ugh women as property. Angering.[/li][li]Combat: The ripped shirt makes a comeback hehehe[/li][li]Spock smiled! Yay! “I’m pleased to see you, Captain.” Lol[/li][/ul]
That was a good one. A+ from me!
I know. I was thinking that while watching the episode too.
I wondered about that.
And T’Pring’s great for working the system to get what she wants - good for her. This episode, while lovely, is so wishy-washy on women - T’Pring and T’Pau are awesome, strong figures (and not human), and Christine Chapel is, well, treated badly by most everyone. Sigh.
Oh! Yeah, probably shoulda saw this first. Either way, still great stuff.
It’s too bad about Chapel. Majel Barrett got to play Number One in the first pilot ‘The Cage’, a very strong female character. Only to later play the role of submissive Nurse Chapel. I’m so glad she came back on TNG as Lwaxana. In many ways I found Lwaxana sexier than Deanna. She spoke her mind, took (IYKWIM) what she wanted, and never played games. I liked that.
Lwaxana was a fabulous character! And so very different than Nurse Chapel (or what I’ve seen to her up to now)
Not necessarily. Pon Farr was only every seven years. Plenty of time otherwise for guy-love.
Ugh women as property. Angering.
See, I didn’t get that from this episode. T’Pring was obviously manipulating the system to get the guy that she wanted. Considering that T’Pau was also officiating, it seems fairly clear that the role of women in Vulcan society may not even be equal to that of men, but superior in fact.
But the language of property is still there.
At least T’Pau is kind of awesome
