You’re right about that. The race was called the Xyrillians. I made the Retcon comment cuz they find it in Archer’s time but don’t use until Picard.
This planet was dubbed ‘The Amusement Park’ planet.
I thot I read in the Star Trek: The Next Generation Technical Manual about them using tech from this planet for holodecks but I just checked and I was wrong. Maybe it was in a novel…or worse some fanfic I might have read…oh no or wrote. It’s late and talos’ brain is fuzzy.
I felt very schizophrenic for a long time as a female Trek fan. being in love with the 'verse, but embarrassed as hell by (most of) the women in it
The stories, the plots, the dialog in TAS is top notch. But it just is all weakened by being played out in cartoon form.
Those episodes are much more enjoyable in novel/book form.
It’s not too bad. It lags. That’s what I noticed. Many scenes of people running here and there with music followed by exposition. Probably be better off reading the synopsis on Memory Alpha.

It’s really wild to hear the female perspective on these. The only other girl I watched Trek with while growing up was my cousin. But she was a tomboy. We played baseball together so I never thot of her as a girl.
I’m glad you’re able to look past the chauvinism and enjoy them for what they are.
Unfortunately I grew up on this and had to learn alot while dating through my teens. Not many women…let me re-phrase that…No woman falls for the Kirk pickup lines.
I can’t stop giggling about Shore Leave. The bunny started it. I wish you guys had warned me and I’m glad you didn’t. What would that planet be like if GWCers beamed down and started thinking…the way we do? The mind reels…
