WOO HOOO!!! Seelix is an OG!!!
Congrats! Now, I must officaly congratulate you over on the Attention OG thread.
Good night FT.
Ditto. Good night, fellow Trekkers.
Same time next week for “The Man Trap” and “Charlie X”?
Sounds good. I’m marking up all my calenders changing “Tuesday” to “Treksday”.
Merci. Merci.
Uh oh. Just to let you know, I’m fresh out of herring.
10-4 Badger. Goodnight.
I’m sleepy. Bein’ an OG is hard work. Time for bed. Goodnight ya’ll. At least I’ll be able to watch both eps next week.
goodnight, your newly minted OGness
Good episode.
The shiny eyes distracted me. They actually remind me of a high school art project I made - a marionette of a fairy. I made her eyes weirdly shiny. I love it, teacher hated it. whatevs.
The morality of gods idea is really cool.
I’m not sure what exactly they mean by “the edge of the galaxy” and how it relates to the rest of the geography of the trek universe.
Well, yeah, kinda the point.
Gary Mitchell couldn’t see well out of his contacts, which is why he had that odd “looking down his nose” thing going on. It actually, albeit accidentally, worked really well, but it wasn’t planned.
That’s a good question (re: the edge of the galaxy).
I really like the character Gary Mitchell. I almost wish he’d been a regular in season 1, and then killed in an episode like this halfway through. The loss of Gary as Kirk’s best friend then opens the door to Kirk’s friendship with Spock.
My understanding is that it was literally the edge of the galaxy, with the assumption that some sort of energy field delineated the border, rather than just the gradual lack of stuff. With very few exceptions, almost all of the Trek 'verse occurs within this galaxy, specifically the so-called “Alpha Quadrant”.
Thanks Badger - I got the Alpha / Gamma quadrant stuff from DS9 and I wasn’t sure how it related to this edge.
