Love the characterisation in this. Kirk apologizes to McCoy and redirects his anger at the people he thing is responsible for his crewman’s death.

The Borgias were a family of (essentially) crime lords in Italy (not sure off the top of my head exactly when). At least a few of them were well-known poisoners.
