I really dislike this stage of his makeup. He looks young, but he’s got the turkey wattle. Just creepy.
“I’ve heard that story. It’s a myth!”
Um, Picard, when was the last time that Beverly checked your eyes?

“I’ve heard that story. It’s a myth!”

What was with that?
“Get me some answers, Doctor.” inch toward Beverly “As soon as possible”
Of course. Just giving 'Talos a hard time.
This is where the plot goes down the toilet. So this guy captured people from his own planet to get the Admiral to the planet. Does that make any sense?
Yeah, if he made up the terrorists, why not make up the hostages as well?
“Your husband. He’s not stabilizing. He may not live that life over.”
And you’re telling me now? Thanx.
It didn’t need all the terrorist plot. Could have just gone with a negotiation and made the aging thing the major focus. This confession part could have been similar, a need to fix a 45 year old problem.
Can’t Bev just label this Admiral unfit for command at this point?
Don’t cross the beams!!
She could done that right from the start, IMO.
How is this Karnas pulling any weight? Let’s see. This is your planet and your people. Why do I care? People die and are killed on planets all the time I would think. The Enterprise can’t be everywhere.
Um, if they could beam down directly in front of Karnas, why didn’t they just beam Karnas up and force him to release the hostages?
Obviously, too many re-writes.
“This story you are telling me is unbelievable.”
Nah. The whole story is unbelievable.
I have a little digital picture frame just like that.
“Die by your own weapon.”
Um, Picard? You say nothing?
With Jameson’s picture?
So why isn’t Karnas being carted off in irons? He took Federation hostages and manipulated an admiral into getting himself killed, and yet he’s allowed to stay in command of this planet without repercussions?
And really, what’s the moral here? Experience is bad? Old people are stupid? Karma’s a bitch?
Makes no sense. I think the original story, I mentioned earlier, was much better. I noticed D.C. Fontana in the credits. I pretty sure she had something to do with it.
ETA: I should really explain that last comment. D.C. is considered by fans their favorite writer. Anyway, from the stuff I’ve noticed her name attached, I’m not impressed. Perhaps I’m just being harsh.
Here is her resume:
TOS: (10)
“Charlie X” (teleplay)
“Tomorrow is Yesterday”
“This Side of Paradise” (teleplay, story with Nathan Butler)
“Friday’s Child”
“Journey to Babel”
“By Any Other Name” (teleplay with Jerome Bixby)
“The Ultimate Computer” (teleplay)
“The Enterprise Incident”
“That Which Survives” (as Michael Richards)
“The Way to Eden” (story with Arthur Heinemann, as Michael Richards)
TAS: “Yesteryear”
TNG: (5)
“Encounter at Farpoint” (with Gene Roddenberry)
“The Naked Now” (with John D.F. Black, as J. Michael Bingham)
“Lonely Among Us” (teleplay)
“Too Short a Season” (teleplay with Michael Michaelian)
“Heart of Glory” (story with Maurice Hurley and Herbert Wright)
DS9: “Dax” (teleplay with Peter Allan Fields)
You know what? I’m being harsh. There are a couple of great episodes in there.
Well, no, it’s my nephew’s pictures. But if I do it right, it looks like he’s getting younger.
