Dr. Crusher was off limits cuz she’s got the same name as my mother. For real.
This episode is also where Worf first wears the silver baldric.
And the first time he wears the gold uniform.
They also changed the seats at the front of the bridge. Ops and Conn are no longer lounging around.
Hmm…Cool, I never noticed that.
“Who will tuck him in at night?”
Worf answers. Um…
Also, the director played with the lighting in this episode. It’s very dark. Roddenberry nix it. It went back to the old style for the rest of the series.

Dare I say it? Roddenberry was wrong. Dark lighting was a good choice.

Whereas I was 4 when the show premiered… I don’t remember watching it religiously, but definitely in the later seasons I watched some episodes with my Dad. I remember the whole family watched the finale together. (We also watched the start of DS9, which confused me at the time…)
And re: dark lighting, I think it suited this episode well. I don’t know that it would have worked for every one, but here it does.
