ST:The Next Generation - The Big Goodbye 1X12 1/12 @ 11PM ET

For those who doubt the holodeck could ever work on a spatial basis, all the sets used in the Dixon Hill universe were actually built within the confines of the holodeck stage.

Safeties are off. Matter-energy conversion could wreak havoc on physical matter, methinks.

I know Data applied proper pressure but wouldn’t it have been cool if he tore that guy’s jaw off with that punch? A bit bloody, though.

“So… this is the big goodbye.”

Tell me this doesn’t remind you of the end of Casablanca. :stuck_out_tongue:

LOL!! I was just wondering why that guy didn’t fly across the room

“When you’re gone, will this still exist?”

Love that. Questioning reality.

Or knocked his block off altogether.

Nails it.

That’s why he’s the Captain.

Reminds me more of ‘The Maltese Falcon’.

Watching these make me feel like a kid again. Wait, there’s a pimple on my nose. Craaaap.

yeah, but why wouldn’t he just listen to a recording or have it written out phonetically instead of talking about all the rules about this changing when followed by, and except when blah blah blah at the beginning?

Yeah, the whole plot of the episode, of course. But I meant the very end of the holodeck sequence, with the longing glances and emotional goodbye between the two male friends.

Totally not in a gay way, of course.

Just wait until you get hair in new and exciting places.

You mean in my nose and ears, not to mention all over my shoulders.

Yeah. A long time ago, when the gays weren’t all up in your face about it.

Do starships even have closets?

I guess they were trying to make it look difficult. It shouldn’t be that hard to create uppity aliens.

Sure. Just no bathrooms.

Once again, WWJTKD?

Kirk doesn’t strike me as the detective story kinda guy. Where would Kirk go in the holodeck? Hrm, naval battle? Got it. Ancient Greece and the Trojans!! (Badger is gonna have a field day with that.)

Kirk will of course play Achilles battling Hector. The holodeck goes amuck and a red shirt winds up impaled. Kirk laments over his crewman and decides to hasten the battle…chaos ensues.

In the end, Kirk takes Helen for himself. His ripped shirt, sweat and blood drip into the workings of the holodeck and short it out.

He would have constructed a primitive cannon from office supplies and the whiskey that all private dicks of the era had stashed in their desks. He then would kill the bad guys and blow a hole in the wall big enough for the crew to escape the holodeck. He, of course, would then get the girl, meaning that the historian would die because the ship’s doctor would be otherwise engaged. But that’s OK, because of the red shirt under his period garb.

Oh, and he would blow the Jarada out of the sky. Nobody makes Kirk speak another language.

Say, Jimmy, do you like gladiator record tapes? :stuck_out_tongue:

And then, of course, since he’s playing Achilles, a bridge pokes him in the heel. The end. :frowning:

Thereby making them all vanish.
