It was just a similarly scary situation, since he just appeared, out of the dark, wielding this knife, saying nothing and looking menacing. Not his fault, of course, since he was a giant grizzly bear of a man with schizophrenia and an occasionally explosive temper. I was pretty certain he was about to gut me, and if he was, there was nothing I would have been able to do about it.
Just in case he wasn’t, I asked what he had there. He smiled and told me he just got it and wanted to show it to me.
After he went back to bed, let’s just say there was some checking of underwear. 
“It’s a net.”

He knows so much for a preacher.
