You’d definitely want to see both movies I think.
Not sure the mid-afternoon will work for me on Sunday. Maybe another AI-themed movie at 10, like WarGames?
How about D.A.R.Y.L. tomorrow at 7 and GitS (both movies) next Saturday?
That’s fine.
But, I wouldn’t recommend both GitS in a row. There’s a nine year gap between the movie releases. I think there should be at least a 24 hour gap between viewings. Still, that’s just my opinion. I’m up for it. I just dunno how that would play out to those who haven’t seen them before.

Ghost in the Shell 2.0 (GHOST IN THE SHELL??? 2.0 G?suto In Za Sheru/K?kaku Kid?tai 2.0?) is a reproduced version of its original 1995 counterpart. It was produced in celebration for the release of The Sky Crawlers in 2008.[4][5] For the films Version 2.0 release, all the original animations were re-produced with latest digital film and animation technologies, such as 3D-CGI. The original soundtrack was also re-organized and re-recorded.
Japanese music composer Kenji Kawai, who orchestrated the score for the original 1995 production, remixed the Version 2.0 soundtrack in 6.1 Channel Surround. Academy Award Winner Randy Thom of Skywalker Sound reprised his role as Sound Designer, after previously working on Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence, and whose credits also include work on Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within.[4]
Either version should be ok. Not sure which I’ll watch yet. (Prolly the extra channels)
OK, slight change in plans: D.A.R.Y.L. isn’t available to watch online, so obtaining it in the next couple hours may be problematic. How about Ghost in the Shell tonight at 7 and 2.0 next week? D.A.R.Y.L. maybe Thursday? There are other GitS movies available too: Stand Alone Complex, SAC: 2nd Gig, Solid State Society, and S.A.C. 2nd Gig: Individual Eleven. I’m really not familiar enough with them to know what’s what.
Ouch. I’m assuming you meant 2: Innocence and not 2.0 (confusing, I know). Fine with me, but what about Talos?
I thought we were just going to ignore the SAC series/movies. I’ve seen the movies, but not the series. I dunno when I’d get the motivation to watch 39+ episodes for SAC.
GitS is on Netflix, so it’s available to watch if he’s interested. I never heard whether he was up for watching D.A.R.Y.L. tonight or not in any case.

My point exactly. I’m not sure what’s what. There are at least six entries available to watch on Netflix.
Here goes…

The series takes place in Japan during the year 2030, and revolves around the activities of Public Security Section 9, a fictional intelligence department under the Japanese Ministry of Home Affairs. The series’ main storyline focuses on Section 9’s independent investigation of the Laughing Man incident.
A second season called Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C. 2nd GIG ran on Animax from 1 January 2004 to 8 January 2005. It was later adapted into two OVAs: an adaptiation of the first series, Stand Alone Complex: The Laughing Man, was released in 2005,[1] and an adaptation of the second series, Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG: The Individual Eleven, was released in 2006.[1] A TV-film sequel called Stand Alone Complex: Solid State Society was released in 2006.[2]
So, The Laughing Man and Individual Eleven are compilation movies of the two seasons of SAC. SAC has two seasons, the second of which is called 2nd Gig. Together the seasons have 52 episodes. Solid State Society is the sequel movie to both the SAC series and movies.
Ok… Then there’s the 1995 movie and it’s 2004 sequel, 2: Innocence. 2.0 is the remake of the 1995 movie with updated graphics and audio.
That make sense?
