S4.E04 CT/ET Frak Party

I think you’re absolutely correct.

Mahatma Gaius

The theme of this episode is perfect and imperfect. Imperfect beings creating perfect beings who then have Head beings convincing imperfect being to tell imperfect beings that they are perfect.

Before I dig into the comments about this episode, let me put in my initial 2 cents about this ep.

The FIRST thing I noticed in the Cally service was the change in Roslyn’s hair, I said aloud (to no one in particular, since I watch the episodes alone) that it was a wig and then later it was revealed by the lady herself that this was the case.

Second, we got to hear what the nickname Cally stood for finally: Callandra.

Last week though, there was a lot of talk about how the whole show went Baltarless… well, this week certainly countered that void. This was probably one of THE most substantial and substantive episodes dealing with Baltar. There have always been back and forth discussions about what Head Six is to Baltar and there have been times when she has been able to affect and effect him (like when she slammed his skull into a mirror when the two were alone), but this week, we see her pick him off the floor by the elbow (which we get to see both with and without Head Six onscreen) and then lifted up again by the hand and finally lifted by the armpits while actually lifting him completely off the ground!

With that scene, we see Baltar actually HOVERING because Head Six has him by the armpits! This is premiere evidence that she is some sort of supernatural figure, we see the guard looking stunned when he hovers off the ground.

I don’t know where this Baltar as prophet storyline is going, but the idea that all of us are perfect, really turned me off and it looked like Lee agrees with my assessment from the look on his face at the end of the episode.

I like the juxtoposition of pleasure and pain (and how the two can be confused) which was paralleled in the scene between Tory and Baltar when she woke him up by pulling out strands of his hair and doing very good and very wrong things to… his off screen parts and the Caprica Six and Tighlon knockdown-makeout at the end.

I was a bit disappointed by this ep, but it would be interesting now if with what we saw with the Chief, if this opens the door for him to get back together with Boomer. Maybe that knife we see him with in the Last Supper promo is to clear the path between himself and Cavil. He may want to kill the skeeve when he finds out about the naked Tai-Chi-Lon voyeurism and yucky makeout between Boomer and Cavil.

Now I’m off to go comment surfing through all of what you all have said about this ep thus far.

I still think that the Chief’s knife from the Last Supper is going to be for Tory (or maybe himself) when he finds out that she airlocked Cally, but it would be interesting if he “killed” Cavil to get Boomer back.

Ahhhh…You foiled my Evil plans…and discovered that Thotfull could mean “Full of Evil Thots”…nooooooo <sound fading as I fly out the airlock…and then realizing that there’s no sound in space…Oh. My God. It’s full of Stars.>

I do like Lost. But you know us men can only concentrate on one thing at a time. My mind is programmed for BSG on Friday nights. Anyway, we ended up not watching Lost afterall. She’s all hot and heavy about Colin Firth, so she had to watch the Tivoed John Stewart Daily Show that had Firth as a guest.

And sure enough, as I predicted earlier in this thread, she did, indeed, fall asleep halfway through BSG tonite.

I’ve got a Dr. Who Dilemma. I watched season 1 and 2, but missed 3. So do I start watching Season 4 right away? Or do I get the Season 3 DVDs and Marathon my way through 'em. Decisions. Decisions.

I’m telling ya, when I saw that scene, I was all set to pick up the batphone and call FrakinTalos and say “FrakinT, time to roll out the Deadpool board again. Place yer bets.”

mmmmmm… Mr Darcy;)

Not at all… talk about a speaking look  The question is whether Tory saw Six, muwahahaha

Remember, on New Caprica we found out that the Tigh’s were Nicky’s godparents in case anything happened to the Tyrols

I liked crying/bedhead Tory, this guiltless “perfect being” Tory is scary in a bad way

The space suit scene where you see the one officer walking on the outside of the ship was very cool and totally answers how they can board the vipers on the Great Ship Poo Ship, one less thing to have to theorize about. Hooray, we actually got a question answered!

He’s off hangin with Head Not Creepy Leoben, waiting til he’s needed again by either Caprica Six or Baltar… what happens if in a future ep, we get a scene between Baltar and Caprica Six, where they BOTH see Head Baltar at the same time and they share that experience… how frakkin awesome would that be!!!

It all happened before and will all happen again, right?

Does this mean that Figurski is the new Chief of the deck crew?

I’m totally humbled, I never get to watch the live stream (and tonight after hearing about it, I’m not too saddened by that) and by the time I get back from watching the 10pm airing, I love catching up with all the comments that I missed throughout the day. I’ll try and see if I can join in on the live frak party next week.

Maybe not, The Poo Barge’s mission isn’t quite public and we don’t know how many people know who is part of the crew, so the official line may be that Helo/Athena/Hera are all still aboard Galactica, but as of now, Hera could be anywhere.

I did think that the Roslyn-Adama scenes were the major highlight of the episode.

Did anybody else notice that the SciFi logo was colored green during BSG? Probably due to Earth Day this week, right?

is that what that was? I just know I noticed it more than usual and it annoyed me.

Yeah. It’s for Earth week. NBC has had that all week, too.

Oh my gods! Tigh changed the baby’s diapers? How frakking awesome was that!

I noticed that too…but I also get nervous when Cylons are around babies…

…<snap>

I loved that Baltar had a simultaneous head event: HeadSix and HeadTory.

I did not love rag doll Baltar. Thought that was lame. It might be an indication that the Heads have some physical attributes which is interesting, just the same I thought it looked silly.

oh yeah, very reminiscent of

Tigh got punched a lot.
