S4.E03 Pre-Show

I can see how from the Final Four’s point of view, it could be self-defense, but not from the larger Colonial society’s or a legal point of view. I believe self-defense defenses only apply to defending oneself from immediate harm, and if you’ve got somebody locked alone in an airlock, you’ve already removed the threat of immediate harm.

I wonder, though it would be a cruel solution, if the Four might not turn it right back around and accuse Cally of being a Cylon, and let Colonial justice/paranoia take care of her for them. It would be more risky in the short-term, because Cally would make the counter-claim that they’re Cylons, but nobody can prove that anybody is one of the Final Five at this point. They can probably guess that, since Athena hasn’t figured out that Anders and Chief are Cylons, she can’t specifically tell who’s a Cylon and who isn’t. They also know that Kara’s identity is in question, so the government hasn’t figured out a way to tell who’s who yet, either. I doubt the Final Four will take that approach, but it would be interesting if the Final Four started a witch-hunt.

Who would believe that Cally was a Cylon, though?
Of course, I was hoping she’d be one of the Final Five for some time.

Well if Cally does get airlocked there are only a few ways they could deal with it.
-Ignore it ever happened which would surely cause an investigation and cause people to start pointing fingers at anything suspicious, which they most likely do not want to happen.
-Claim she was insane/attacking one of them/off her rocker/had rabies to justify the “treatment”
-Forge a note and try to pass it off as suicide
-Pass it off as a “unfortunate mishap” which seems very unlikely

These are just a few ideas that I have tossed around in my head at certain points in my life… err… I mean, when I put myself in their shoes.

Actually, Ron Moore wrote the episode “The Drumhead” in Star Trek TNG, so you know he likes the witchhunt plotline. He’s rehashed several of his story ideas from TNG before, only now that he’s show runner he can do them exactly how he wanted to in the beginning.

Cally’s more believable than Tigh.

Ah, I’ll wait and see, RDM said he had a credible back story for Tigh and I’m not gonna diss on Tigh being a Cylon until they had a chance to explain it all. Of course, should they come up with a lame explanation, I’ll be on the dissing side.

My quarter bets for the episode:

Tigh will once again be sober for the whole episode.
Cally will not die
Roslin and Adama will have a huge fight over Starbuck
Simon will not speak
Cavil will be killed by a centurion again, though not for good.
We will see the return of x’anna—Cylon princess

-agree
-disagree (She is a goner for sho)
-agree
-agree
-disagree (I think Cavil will be tortured for fun, but not killed)
-sure, why not.

Could be because these Centurions have been shipbound…not out in the rain, sleet, and snow of the outside world. Another option is that the Six (Natalie?) birthed these guys right out of the goo, (or wherever the Cents hail from), removed their inhibitors, brought them up to date, and told 'em to lock and load. Brand spanking new, perhaps…

Sure.
Nope, she dies. :mad::frowning:
Yep.
Right.
Not yet at least.
Too soon.

Anybody else see this?

Instead of an all-at-once deal, Skiffy’s going to stream the next episode eight times on Friday. Though I’m really happy that they’re doing this, it’s going to make the streaming frak party a bit complicated, isn’t it?

Oh, yeah, I’m definitely in the “trust RDM” camp. I mean more than if the crew at large is going to suspect people (or if accusations start flying) the fleet and the leadership are more likely to believe that Cally’s a Cylon than that Tigh is.

Holy Frak!
I was expecting some internal conflict, but I wasn’t expecting basestar on basestar violence!
SWEEEEEET!
Well, the later streamers will have to wait 'til they’re done to jump in, or risk being spoiled, but that’s not that huge a deal.

I finally called something (a few days ago on another thread) that is actually going to happen! This never happens so I’m understandably stoked. I agree…SWEEEET !
Check out the picture of Kara on the Skiffy website…she has a very smug “I told you so” kind of smirk/smile. A portent of things to come? Or…not?

So, after rewatching “Six of One”, and seeing Tory’s romp with Baltar again, I got an idea: What if the revealed Final 4 team up with Baltar behind the scenes due to his inside knowledge of the Cylons. That would definitely complicate things, no?
