Other things that lead to ratings dips: your 20-30 year-old singles demographic is not usually willing to give up the Friday night socializing except on special occasions. Especially if they can watch for free online first. I wish they had kept it at Sundays!

First of all, I hate watching “live” TV. We usually watch it off the TiVO so we can FF through the commercials.
Second, my wife’s out of town. She understood she married a geek, and she loves BSG, but chatting with people on the internet during our favorite Sci-fi show might be a little too much for her. I have to dole out my geekiness - I figure I’ve got a good 50 years to let it all out there. No reason to overwhelm her.
