I just imagine a couple of college kids, watching this movie, getting high, and having an in-depth conversation about that warehouse scene.

There are no such legends about the Ark, to my knowledge. Touching it meant death, but looking at it was fine.

I think he may have said something at the very beginning of the movie. When he was explaining to the govt. men or the scene right after?
Nope. There is no mention. They just say that an army with the Ark is invincible. There is nothing about closing your eyes.
