I remember how my dad and step mom (both former teachers) would hardly ever go out except on birthdays and their anniversary… except when they got cift certificates from their students. Afterward they’d go on about what a wonderful meal they had and always mention who gave them the gift. (not that I’d ever know the student, but it was best to humor them)
They did enjoy the movie passes too.
Get him a Sam Adams holiday sampler pack and let your son bring it into school with him.
teehee
I have received a case of beer on several occasions for Xmas–delivered by a parent though, not the student.
How about some nice Christmas ornaments? Perhaps one nice piece as the nice ones are crazy expensive.
I have also purchased nice picture frames and allowed my kids to draw a picture for the frame. The kids are pleased and I know the frame will eventually be used for the teacher’s family pictures.
In some schools, teacher’s are expected to buy some supplies out of their own pocket. If your teacher faces this issue, you could purchase some of the supplies or give him a gift certificate for same.
Boring old standbys are also appreciated. Lovely displays of nuts or candy for the teacher to use during his own holiday parties or for him to pass on as a host gift.
That’s why it’d be funny
