Like a Little Girl, With Little Saddleshoes, and Little Pigtails

That one didn’t hit me like when Billy died and Roslins voice cracked when she said “he’s so young”. that did it - all kindsa waterworks there.

Kat’s death with Adam right there with her gets to me a bit too…

Dee still kinda messes with me…but that was more shock…

damn I’m a punk…

Yeah, David. Don’t let Boba Fett know how much of a sissy you are, or he might drop you into the Sarlacc.

That was the one that hit me most. Here was someone who had a bad past. Got a chance to do better. Grabbed hold of it for all its worth. Was good at it and paid the price for it. Da88m sad scene at the end.

I too am not a cryer, but I have found my eyes brimming with tears so many times, I’ve lost count.

I agree, OT. That scene torn the heart out of me, especially contrasted against the joy and celebration of the homecoming.

-Kat’s death really did me in.
-And just before the fleet lands on Erf, Starbuck stands in front of Kat’s picture and says, “We made it kid.” (sniff, sniff).
-The reunion of Adama & Starbuck in sickbay in the aftermath of telling Adama about Zak failing his training.
-Any time the Adama father & son theme is played.
-And the list goes on and on.

The look on Lee’s face when he discovered that Kara and Anders got married the morning after she slept with Lee.

Roslyn standing over Billy’s dead body.

Adama’s breakdown over Tigh being a cylon

Cottle telling Athena and Helo that Hera was dead

Lee running accross the hanger to embrace Kara when she came back at the end of season 3

Seeing Gina in the brig for the first time, all beaten and broken, and Head Six’s reaction to same

Tigh telling Adama about losing baby Liam

Athena in Helo’s arms after getting beat up and seeing him sleep with Boomer

The moment in the first part of season three, after Roslyn and Zarek escape execution, when Chief tells them that they are going home.

Kara’s reaction to finding out that Casey was not her child.

Those are just a few times I got misty.

Yes, yes, yes.

-On Kobol, when Adama first sees Starbuck, he brushes hair away from her eyes and stokes her face. Those father-daughter moments really get me.

-After Starbuck dies, Adama at his desk looking through her service record and comes across the card she gave him. She has an Adama mustache, " See the resemblance?"

Kat’s death was rough.

The scene that always gets me though is the reveal of “Laura” on the side of the stealth Viper. The soft music, the quiet hush of the crew, and Mary McDonnel’s equally quiet “oh!” Gets me every time.

Lee: “And if it were me out there”?

Adama: “You don’t have to ask. If it were you out there, we’d never leave”.

The way Lee chokes up undoes me every time.

I agree, OT. That scene torn the heart out of me, especially contrasted against the joy and celebration of the homecoming.

How about the look that Adama shoots at Tigh as he is being carried away from his friend by those celebrating - knowing full well what Tigh meant without having to elaborate? (Not how Ellen died, but that she was dead. Along with many others.) Great, great, great.

Yup, Yup, that’s why this series will endure, it is so layered.

For me that kiss between Adama and Roslin. It was so clear just how much they loved each other in the midst of the pending doom.

But maybe most of all… the ending of last weeks episode. Saul and Bill on the couch, in front of the cylon war painting, drinks in hand… to Galactica.

Yes to both. Tigh gets me every time.

New misty-eyed moments:

Hotdog: “Lot of photos still down there. Nobody knows who they are, anymore. Prolly friends and relatives of someone on Galatica who died, somewhere along the way.”

The photos of those who are now utterly forgotten… a poignant scene. I was reminded of the scene in the mini-series: watching the little girl in the garden, and the Fleet jumps away for the first time, and you know that’s it for her. There is an honesty in this scene that reminds me of the one in the mini-series, about the reality of death… Adama is leaving all his forgotten children behind, and there is nothing he can do about it… but he can save one picture, at least.

And: “Hey. I know what you are. You’re my daughter. Don’t forget it.”

Damn. I’m a dude, and this scene had me wishing I was Adama’s daughter.

Last night’s episode - when Roslyn put on her wig and came out to join Adama - she just looked so frail and so tired - it made me cry.

That was brutal. How does Mary McD do it?

If anybody is still wondering about the identity of the leader who will not make it to the promised land - you got your answer.

She did an amazing job with that, she so nailed some of the more subtle mannerisms.

for me it was “stranded” at that last pull back shot with bear’s damn sad irish music~!

Missmuffet, I also teared up with Roslin last night, twice! When she climbed into the fountain after she knew her sisters and dad were killed, and then when she was crossing the hangar deck. sob

wonder how much kleenex there will be at the meetup. will you guys just have a table with boxes - maybe pass them around during…cuz I know there will be at least one thing that’ll happesn that will cause me to lose it

wonder if it will be a Star Trek TNG/DS9 ending where it’s kinda sad but kinda cool

or a Babylon 5 ending where I’m curled up in the fetal position, tears streaming (seeing B5 go up does it to me everytime)

or a Voyager/Enterprise ending where I’m like"…ok, what the hell was that about?"

The father-daughter moments between Adama and Starbuck really move me.

When Casey is taken from Kara in Exodus is one that springs to mind almost instantly. The look on Katee’s face just gets me, how she’s trying to act ok but is really hurting deep down. Id din’t cry but I really felt her pain.
Also, when Helo and the Chief spread “Hera”'s ashes in Downloaded. I got that Hera hadn’t died or anything but the hurt that seemed to be in Helo’s face and the sympathy look from Chief really gets to me.
