THOT 1 (and only): The cutest part is when he goes up for air. it’s like… “Hold on guys, gotta breathe… Don’t stop though… I’m like right here 5 feet up.”
It may be. I suspect that the whale can hear an awful lot, though. Probably more than someone standing the same distance in open space (the tank wall is the variable I’m not sure about.)
Thot 2: Comments say it was at a wedding. Most big aquariums have a downstairs room with a tank view that they rent out for events. I attended a press dinner at the Baltimore aquarium a while back.
You’re in Texas and you’ve been to the Balto. Aquarium more recently than I have. Typical.
But yeah, a wedding makes it a bit less random. (Although, “Mariachi Wedding at the Aquarium” still sounds like something Pinkie Pie would say.)
Thot 3: You can find a mariachi band in any state in the US.
It’s been a while since I lived in CT (and it wasn’t the TV part of CT) but the hispanic population was almost entirely Portuguese and Puerto Rican. I imagine that’s changed, though.
Thot 3: You can find a mariachi band in any state in the US.
You want a mariachi band? I can get you a mariachi band, believe me. Hell, I can get you a mariachi band by 3 o’clock this afternoon…
Did you get to tour the rainforest upstairs? That is my favorite part of the Baltimore aquarium!
I’m not gonna ask how

Musical taste may vary, but the song is epic (and I only use that word 3 times a year d: ).

I was wondering what the point was until the last 5 seconds!! That was like old style M. Night Shyamalan there. d:
I would pay good money to see this movie.
Ossim! Found Wall-E, but where’s Crow, Gypsy and Cambot (Tom Servo is there). And they’re missing one of the 3 bots from Silent Running… oh wait they have his foot there, nevermind.
I’m actually not sure which bothers me the most; how many of those I recognize or how many of those I don’t.
Well tracked down the source and there’s a contest to see who can name the most robots out of the 180 in the picture. There is a numbered picture with their outlines to help.

agreed … Time to kick some Jedi butt … let’s do this!
Naming all those robots sounds like a worthy task for the hive mind!
13 year old Scientist Makes Solar Power Breakthrough

"What Dwyer did, whilst on a hike in the Catskills of course, was to take a look at some trees. His mind twisted and turned as the leaves on these trees did, and he wondered if the sequence at which the leaves grew from the branches had anything to do with how well the trees were able to soak up sunlight. He then did some advanced learning for his age, finding out all about the Fibonacci sequence, the golden rectangle, and the spiral it creates. Dwyer applied what he learned to the branches he was studying, and what do you know, the leaves adhered to the sequence.
Once he figured this out, his Oak Tree specimen’s secret may well have become Dwyers greatest discovery in his short 13 years on this earth. Taking what he’d learned so far about the placement of the leaves on the tree, he arranged solar panels on a model he’d created specifically for this scientific experiment. He found that by arranging the panels in such a way, he was able to increase efficiency by 20 to 50 percent over straight-line solar arrays."
Eh, his method for measuring results is flawed. He measures voltage which can fluctuate wildly and can’t give a reliable indication of power. He needs to perform this again and measure the load. It’s cool that he’s doing science, and the kid is not the problem here, the poor reporting of what he’s doing is.
