I currently have a nano 1st generation that holds 1 (thats right just 1) gig. It was $150.00 brand new. But for christmas, i am getting a 16 gig touch. Just 15 more days!
Ooh nice. Enjoy.
Touch or iPhone? Touch or iPhone? I’m trying to decide.
Get the phone. One less thing to carry.
I can’t believe I am seriously considering getting the iPhone if the WalMart $99 one turns out to be true.
If you already have a phone you like, keep it. Otherwise get the phone!
Yeah, you’re right.
What do hear about the microwaves to the brain. I’ve heard they’re much more intense than other phones. Can’t afford to lose anymore brain cells.
Not a problem. The Reality Distortion Field™ deflects them.
Thank you, just as I thought.
I have a friend whose motto is, “Just one word, ‘Ignore’.”
My phone is steadily approaching the day it just falls apart in my hand, so I’d like some recommendations, specifically about the iPhone. Is it worth it? And what’s up with this $99? Seriously?
Not sure about the 99 buck one, but the phone is definitely worth it. The browser alone is worth having. It works over the cell network as well, so it’s internet all the time. It imports all your contacts, so you don’t have to key in all that info. Text Messaging looks just like AIM. There’s a bunch of applications. Oh, and it’s also an iPod.
Go to an Apple Store and try one out.
Tips and Tricks for your new iPhone. Some are kinda obvious, if you’ve used it for any time. Some, not so much.
ETA, and another one. Some overlap.
Both these via Daring Fireball.
Pike,
One of the main things holding me back is not the money for the phone, but the monthly recurring charge. My understanding is that the data plan alone is around $120…(I am embarrassed to admit I have not refreshed my research on this point). Is that number around what you are paying monthly or have those fees changed?
spit take Jeebus dude. No.
No, no, no.
The unlimited (email, web, etc) data plan is twenty bucks. The entire cost of the plan, per month, for me and The GF, (Family plan) is about $120.
hi all,
I just got my first iPod for Christmas, from my parents. It’s a 5th gen iPod nano. I love the fact that it has a camera and fm radio (probably the reason my parents chose this for me). I read somewhere on the internet that it has a microphone too somewhere?
Anyway, I’m interested in using the Notes function as an ebook reader; but it understand it only reads text files up to a 4kb limit. Is there any way around this?
Also (and this is a Singaporean habit), I’m charging my iPod the first time for 8 hours straight. I’m wondering if this is the right thing to do? I using an adapter which allows me to charge the iPod straight to a wall socket. Will this hurt my battery? I find it a bit lame to be a slave to the “thou shalt charge thy iPod using the USB port of thine computer” rule.
PS I found an iPod Nano manual in adobe format. Looks official.
iPod Nano 5th Gen manual
i think most lithium batteries requires the long first charge time. so i think your ipod should be ok.
What they’re advertising over here is that there are 90,000 applications for iTunes. It certainly is making me drool…
That’s fine. Charge it all the way up then run it all the way down. Once a month or so run it all the way down. (It keeps the battery from developing a false ‘memory.’)
You should be fine with the wall charger, too. The iPhone comes with one.
I think it’s over 100,000 by now
I have a tech question with iTunes. I have iTunes on my Win 7 laptop and it takes forever to load up my audiobook CDs. I have no problem with music CDs, just my audiobooks. Anybody have an idea why? This happened with my last laptop also.
