That’s the way that the Hebrew and Muslim calendars are set up. The Mayan calendar is based around 13, although it’s significantly more complicated.
Yet there are twelve tribes and … 12 cylons. There’s the lost tribe of Israel and the lost tribe of humanity.
Wasn’t it always?
“I have a bad feeling about this.” Every geek smiled.
This is pretty frakkin’ awesome right here…
“A portal. A pathway to another dimension.”
“I don’t think we want to go that way.”
Hehe.
I’m glad you like it. I thot so also.
Yeah, I didn’t see that turning out too well for her…
I love this water spout bit.
Scully look. Look Scully!
The skeletons all coming together was particularly cool.
So whaddya think?
The 13-month year is just a reality of time documenting in Europe and Western Asia. Twelve was a sacred number for them, multiplying 3 (representing the divine) and 4 (representing the mortal world).
It gets better better everytime I watch it.
I enjoyed it. It definitely has a lot of the same feel as the originals (unlike, as you said, Star Wars), but it’s modernized enough to feel like a reboot. I liked the bit at the end with the hat. I could see them “passing the whip” with a new series of movies, although I’m not sure how well things would work without HF.
Thanks for joining me 'Talos (and anyone else who’s still around). Sorry about the short notice. If anyone’s interested in a proper frak party with somewhat more of a warning, there’s no reason we can’t schedule another some time…
I agree. I saw some of the Indy series and it’s not the same without Harrison and Speilberg. Still interesting subject matter, though.
My biggest problem with the movie, the first time I saw it, is that it feels so different set during the Cold War than during the build up to WWII.
That’s what I mean though. It feels like a reboot, because I think it’s supposed to be. It definitely has that “next generation” vibe to it…
