if the later part is a twist on lieder… then it would also be Dre Lieder, which is songs by Dr. Dre…
I am so blushing right now. I didn’t think anyone noticed I have been doing sit-ups.
LOL!!! Your after my own heart Solai

Sean: “That’s the ticket Laddie!”
HAHAHA classic
Aside from the “drei” bit, does that look like a german word to you?
BattlestarWiki’s claiming that it’s german for third eyelid, which as some psychic/mystic connotations. My German’s pretty bad, but that doesn’t look right. Also, the German version of the english third-eye wikipedia article is titled Drittes_Auge. We’re probably barking up the wrong baum here. Trouble is, the only non-BSG google hit I found was a brief blog entry by someone named Dreilide on an indian website. Maybe I should try searching in Hindi.

Audra: “Can we make a mould so we can make a replacement. Can we use the Ron Jeremy mould?”
it doesn’t look like a Hindi word to me, it looks more greek than anything.
I can’t imagine the word is anything other than, as hansioux has suggested, vaguely Greek in etymology (specifically the “edes”) on the end.
though plural of if eyelid in German really is lider. I can think of cases where it’d just be Lide.
Making it Drei-lide. But I don’t know what three eyelid or third eyelid means…
Great episode, great cast. We’re really cooking with gas now…
This episode really affected me, so much so that I teared up multiple times during the projection scenes between Tyrol and Boomer. In the face of all this darkness and drudgery, to have T & B suddenly transported to a scene of domestic bliss, complete with a child was heartbreaking.
How many moments of happiness has the Chief had in the past three years?
And to suddenly be placed into what I’m sure was his greatest fantasy, and then to learn that it was false and empty, as real as Leoben’s dollhouse for Kara, and just as much a manipulation was just evil. I’m on record as saying that I thought Boomer could be redeemed by allowing herself to be loved again by the Chief, but I think she’s too far around the bend and can’t come back.
Regarding Head Dad, I’m less interested in the meaning of his name and more interested in what he’s trying to guide Kara to do. Clearly it’s her dad, and clearly the music he played for her when she was young (and the Final Five heard in the Nebula) mean…something. Kara’s said she’s looking for a purpose - I think the music has something to do with that purpose. Perhaps there’s some kind of Goonies scenario, where she has to play this tune on a massive pipe organ, which will open the magic cave and release the treasure. My wheels are spinning as to what it means…
Further thoughts…the Opera House vision. In it, we see a carefree Hera running, with a Sharon and Roslin in chase, only to be picked up and held by a Six and Gaius. I’d always assumed that the Sharon was Athena, but now I think the Sharon in the vision is Boomer. Her presence represents the Cavil-Doral-Simon alliance, and Roslin represents the colonials. The Six and Gaius, I believe, represent the Rebel 2-6-8 alliance, and the fact that they ‘win’ in the vision leads me to believe that Hera is fated to be joined with/lead the rebel cylons. The ‘shape of things to come’, as Six has said.
I denfitely agree that the Helo/Boomer scene was really hard to watch. She has turned just so evil. You could tell that she wasn’t that in to Helo, but then just descided to frack with Athena. What really must be difficult for Athena is the fact that Helo originally fell in love with Boomer. He had a crush on her way back before the Cylon attack. After seeing his reaction to Boomer, I could imagine that Athena would have doubts that she measures up to the original Sharon…
Oh, that’s a good point. I have completely forgotten that indeed Helo had the hots for Boomer prior to Athena. It’ll be interesting to see the dynamic between Athena and Helo in the aftermath of the BoomerFrak and the loss of Hera.
And I can’t believe I missed the whole Dreilide maybe meaning three songs/three eyes/three SOMETHING! It could mean a whole lot of things, and I’m going to add one more in even though it doesn’t make too much sense (given I can’t think of anything that will link the two together, at least not now). Since Drei means three, perhaps Three D’anna have something to do with Daniel. But yes, there is virtually no connection between the two characters, except that their names both start with D. (Hm, hey! Three of the eight cylons have names that begin with D. Strange. I am obviously overthinking it. :D)
Amen bro. I am going thru some craaap now and your single sentence above is inspired.
It certainly is inspired.

Hamlet: Act II, Scene II™
I think we can safely say that the answer won’t be found in the German language. Trust me.
As for the whole “harbinger of death” thing on the podcast, it’s been answered- in the podcast for revelations one of the writers was talking about how they were able to answer questions that had essentially dug them into a hole-It refers to Starbuck causing the destruction of the resurrection Hub.
I’m guessing they’re not going to flat out say in the show what “Harbinger of death” referred to since they openly said it in the podcast- they’ll just leave it for us to figure out ourselves when all is said and done.
Just caught this while re-watching. Watch the intro, when it gets to the fast drum bits, there is a 2 second clip of cottle lighting up, when the lights flicker, watch Anders behind him, he puts both his hands to his side and pushes himself to sit up.
but of course if you listened to the RDM podcast you would know that
Anders was supposed to be walking around and talking jibberish in this episode
But it was cool to see.
Music was awesome. Hope Bear releases a piano version of watchtower!
Oh, and about the name thing. What if it meant to be phonetical?

= Poppa Buck is shooting blanks, Starbuck created in some other way?
Cylons and humans sharing CAPs, memorials, governance, and maintenance duties…full integration is at hand!
The Galactica, like the Titanic, begins to undergo her final death throws! Does Adama, like Captain Smith, die with his ship? Adama did not drink much this episode, in fact he seemed down right somber, calm, or is it resignation?
Lora has a connection to Hera thanks to that blood transfusion way back in season 2…is she dead? Re-watching the episode last night I see clues that she at least taken a very bad turn for the worst…did you notice at the start of the episode her hands are shaking and the way she fumbles her eyeglasses? I noticed too that Lora is sweating a lot…feverish maybe? Next week previews show everyone is in dress uniforms on the hanger deck, not a good sign!
Kara has a connection to the 5; she married to Anders and she knows his song! Kara’s mother believed she had a special destiny. Kara inherited her mothers warriors spirit, and inherited father’s musical and artist talents! Kara and Hera share at least quite a hybrid of artistic talents:)
Dovetail: in Maelstrom, Kara confronted her mommy issues and death; in Someone To Watch, she confronts her daddy issues and the meaning of life. Closure is at hand!
Tyrol, where to being. First love is truly blind. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. The Chief’s love for Boomer is so blind that he forgot that Boomer got him to lie and cover for her. Only when confronted with Boomer’s true motives did he get it…it was all an illusion!
Helen appears to gotten over last weeks “High School Reunion” with the 5. She appear at the end engaged over the mystery of Hera and “manipulating higher powers.”
Poor Athena and Karl I bet they both regret not getting those matching tatoos like Kara and Anders have!
Interesting that all anyone eats is green goo, but the booze still flow freely!
Yes! Yes! We’ve already had a magic arrow turn on the planetarium show, why not this!
Welcome to the boards, Lew. Wonderful screen name and avatar pic (I’m dodging fish right now).
