btw, who is the chick with the sexy accent that called in to the show? I fell in love.
I also enjoy that Aussie chick’s voice. I dunno if she’s on the forum though
I read a blog today about BSG VS Terminator TSCC
http://tv.msn.com/tv/fall-tv-guide/sci-fi-breakup/?gt1=28103
and after having read it, i have to say i am not quite there but io believe it is echoing a lot of the feeling us die-hards are having…
I’d love the hear my fellow BSG loyalists thoughts…
Weeeelll…
From a purely objective viewpoint, I could certainly stand with a little less melodrama and a little more menace. The show has IMO become more cerebral than it once was, and seems to have a higher miss-to-hit ratio than in the beginning (though nothing has ever been as bad as “Black Market”). I also have stopped caring who the final Cylon is.
But…there’s been a lot of kick-assery in recent episodes, and though it isn’t always of the killer-robot-vs-fleeing-human variety, I’ve thought it quite spectacular. Then there’s Roslin and Adama’s relationship, which has been a sweet thing to behold, tenderly played out by two very fine actors. Also, like Chuck, I tend to like the political drama episodes, so they don’t bother me as much (okay, maybe not Sine Que Non).
And who the frak says nobody likes Laura Roslin?!?! That’s the blasphemous part ;), not a fan’s honest critique of his favorite show.
(P.S. Hey, I’m half an OG!)
I’ve got a question about the Terminator series (probably discussed on the forum already).
In T3, the story seems to be that the doomsday future is unavoidable. It doesn’t matter what John Connor tries to do to prevent Skynet from going crazy, doomsday will come. The future can’t be changed.
But isn’t the whole story based on machines from the future trying to kill Sarah and John Connor so that there wouldn’t be a resistance? If the future can’t be changed, then… wth?
Wow, I can’t imagine life without a Circle K. I freeking grew up on thirstbusters!
Unfortunately there was never a time traveling phone booth in the parking lot.
BTW, the randomness of GWC podcasts is its strength! 20min of the actual subject
matter and 1:30min of random is awsome!
Circle K’s were never really that prevalant(sp?) here in Michigan. However, when I was searching for apartments this past summer, the fact that there was a Circle K up the street I took as a sign it was meant to be!
I think it’s Mikayla…and I am a fan!
it’s Michaela, thank you… she seems to post regularly
ooo, i wonder if she has My Little Pony as well…
Larry needs to call in to give his feelings about fairy princess time.
Alas, I think that iron is off the fire.
Um, and ten minutes in someone will start a tangent and suddenly Chuck will say, “Huh, looks like we are out of time. Last thoughts?” and everyone will say how great the movie was and that will be that. So actually watching BttF is pretty optional.
What? Why? What happened to Larry? Pike, what did you do?
Ahem…she’s an Aussie. Welcome to my world :D:D:D
gaf
i didn’t want to make the differention, because I know if you call a Kiwi and Australian, or vice versa they will never talk to you again because there is some race war going on, so I just made it vague.
…did I just make up the word differention?
I do believe so, yes.
It’s not in the OED, therefore it doesn’t exist
Umm… unless the respective aborigine’s are going to war against each other, it’s not really a “race war”, right? I mean, they are both transplanted white people, mostly? Race war between different shades of beige seems silly.
yeah, but if you call a kiwi an australian, they’ll treat you like you just shot their dog.
Tell it to the Irish, or the Scots, or the Armenians, or…
Pike, don’t let us down. Make sure your 4,000th post is big and flashy!
