I had the same problem, bkitty, but now the feed is back up and running. Seems like the site has caught a case of the hiccups lately; I couldn’t get the blog to load for awhile a few days ago, too.
I heart new podcasts! I usually can’t get the new episode until Sunday. I’m so happy to have it downloading right now.
…I’ll be in my bunk.
Sooo…are those Summer’s for your avatar?
Judge Dredd?! A part of me died when I saw that. I read actual 2000 AD progs when I was in High School (local comic shop guy hooked me up) and that movie felt sort of like the SW prequels to me.
yup, keeping with the whole “boob theme”
She is so hot
TGPAL: I saw this and thot of you
There is a Terminator for everyone.
Great podcast again.
Ugh I’m trying to decide whether I should watch Sarah Connor when I have so much other stuff to catch up on…bah I watched like one episode when it originally aired but I thought it was pretty lame
Wait a second…how exactly is it hard to one hand rack a shotgun? I mean I guess it depends on the shotgun but my ancient JC Higgins is easy as hell to do
Oh man. Demoltion Man. That’s easily in my top 5 of movies. It’s so frakkin good. You’ve got Dennis Leary and Wesley Snipes and Taco Bell as fine dining xfd. The whole thing is great
>_> More people need to be awake. I’m like live blogging the podcast and I’m the only one posting.
When ConnorAZ was talking about Pokemons and Transformers I thought he was gonna go with people collecting Transformers and using them to battle other people with Transformers. IE: The collection bit of Pokemon + The colectees being Transformers.
Way cooler than either of his ideas >_>
I don’t know if this has been mentioned before during my week-long involuntary absence, but is everybody aware of the fact that the whole Terminator genre is based on a short story called “Solider from Tomorrow” by Harlan Ellison that Cameron ripped off so blatantly that Ellison sued him and won the case? And that there’s also an episode of Outer Limits called Soldier that is based on said short story?
GR, I did some research and it looks like the studio gave Ellison a cash settlement as a preemptive strike as they acknowledged the similarity and wanted to avoid a lawsuit.
…so slightly different but directionally correct. At the end of the day “Soldier from Tomorrow” is indeed the precursor to Terminator. Perhaps the Terminator movie sent the short story “Soldier from Tomorrow” back in time in order to ensure its existence?
Strangely this makes total sense.
I remember there was an episode from Outer Limits too that prompted the whole Matrix franchise. In the outer limits version, everybody was working for some Acme-type of company, then one guy starts asking questions. He finally wakes up from the “outer-limits-matrix” and finds everybody living in boxes? ??
It was quite old; I remember watching it in 1992.
Isn’t there a Cameron and Agent Ellison in Terminator: Sachro?
I have enjoyed the show and it has got better over time like most shows. The first few shows had to establish characters but now it is mostly great story. You would love the start of this year. The show starts without any dialog just action. Your kind of show.
Two things:
-
If I was not regestered on the forum already, I would totally regester the name “Liquid Doughnut”, and have an avatar of John Goodman.
-
What exactly will we be watching for the Sarah Conor Chronicles episode? I havn’t seen any of it, so I want to get a head start catching up.
ahhh… downloading goodness…
Thanks for holding my hand, Kappa. sighs relief
In the middle of listening and kind of random off topic comment, but thought it funny that Chuck brought up “The Fifth Element”.
In college, I was in a film class where my professor, all educated in the world of films, especially in the area of SF, told us the very first day in class that his favourite all time guilty pleasure was…The Fifth Element! He argued vehemently that it was so much more than just a hollywood popcorn blockbuster, and we must have dissected each and every scene of that movie at least half a dozen times in the course of the semester. So while I still think it’s a silly Hollywood blockbuster, I was won over by his efforts, and totally love and appreciate that film now. It’s awesome!
And on The Sarah Connor Chronicles: IWhen it came out last year, I tried watching the first episode and fell asleep in about five minutes flat. I tried again, and fell asleep AGAIN. I gave up after that. Should I even try again?
Oh, Chuck just said Fuck on the podcast. Was that a first official censor bleep?
Dude, I love The Fifth Element. I’m not sure I’d even call it a guilty pleasure, I just love it. My MIL and I bond over that movie.
I’d sign up for that class in a heartbeat.
I’ve been wondering for days what bkitty’s new avatar is supposed to be. and just now, I saw it, and I can’t figure out how I didn’t see it before.
it’s a sailboat!
