i love the show enough already… if they put a pinoy in the show, i won’t last during the year long hiatus…
One thing that I truly appreciate about GWC is that the crew aren’t haters. After close to a year of no new content, that would’ve been enough to turn people sour, but the big three still kept it positive. I’ve subscribed to other podcasts about other TV shows and what turned me off was the negativity of the hosts around the show, the writing, the editing, the directing, etc. All that ranting and crankiness just became toxic and I clicked ‘Unsubscribed’.
Even when Chuck, Sean and Audra don’t like an aspect of the show/story, the dialogue isn’t toxic or craapy. They pull back if/when they think the talk’s getting too negative and bring it back to topic, or they play a call to move the discussion somewhere else.
BUT! Saying that, it’s still nice to hear a dissenting opinion, you know? The three hosts are cool enough to still put that on air for everyone to hear.

Right now all I know who made it in the industry off the top of my head are Dean Devlin and Joel Dela Fuente. Dean Devlin produces a lot of scifi (screenplay for Universal Soldier, co-wrote and produced the Stargate movie, co-produced Independence Day). Joel Dela Fuente was the guy who played Wang in Space: Above and Beyond.

Re: Helo cheating on Athena. How quickly we forget that Helo ALREADY IS CHEATING ON ATHENA! Remember how he shot her and she went to go snatch her baby back? So if we are saying that It is the Same Athena because it has the original AThena’s thoughts, then the Sharon-Wanna-Be would have to be considered the same Sharon too by that rule since she accessed all the memories as her own. Helo = Cheater. Might as well get it on with all the Sharons and have a 8-gang-bang.

I thought that at one time that Athena stated that she was not sharing her memories so that she was not a security risk. That she had a choice to download. Was the back rub thing just old and before she stopped communicating with the 8s? Help please.

Me and some of my BSG pals have been having a similar discussion. What does an 8 know and what doesn’t an 8 know. A similar idea that is bothering us, is how does Athena know who Tyrol is when she comes aboard Galactica in season 2? My best guess is that the Cylons are constantly transmitting memory updates to their database. Then when a model resurrects they receive all relevant memories that they need for a mission, or something like that. Somehow Athena has been able to stop this transmission since deciding to go against the Cylons. So maybe this Athena2 has memories of Helo’s love b4 Athena stopped transmitting. Did Athena2 say she got the memories when Athena resurrected last season in Rapture?

I tended to think that Athena cut her self off from the constant updating to the cylon database that each skin job can do. However, once she died and was uploaded she wouldn’t have the ability to keep her memories separate from the rest of the collective. I think Adama expressed concern as such while they were cleaning up the scene in Helo and Athena’s quarters.
I wonder if some of the ‘lost time’ and spaciness that Boomer displayed when she was still part of the fleet was her uploading memories and downloading new orders…
I agree that’s what makes the podcast great. Right before I found GWC I tried listening to a different podcast. After only 3 'casts I learned it was just a recap followed by complaints about why the guy didn’t like the episode. I like that the the Trinity discuss the show as written. In other boards and discussions too often it seems when a character does something against expectation it is chalked up to poor writing, while here the 'cast and resulting discussion on the board uncovers motivations that is not easily apparent. That I argue is actually the hallmark of quality writing.
Also while I certainly don’t write fiction or screenplays I do have to write enough in my real life to know that it’s a hard skill to do well. Therefore, I’ve always found a bit tiring to hear the quick complains of poor writing when discussing shows. This is something I see occur happen on most other boards and (thankfully) is generally not seen here. I tend to like to hear people’s opinions on subjects which they have some expertise. The main thing we do have expertise on is being fans of the show. So unless someone has a couple Emmy noms for writing I tend not to care that much about their opinions on how well any given episode is written.

About Athena and Athena2. Athena actually had a scar, or that she should have, since Helo shot her in the left shoulder.
When she had Helo kill her to get Hera back, she turns into Athena2, and lost the scar. So How can Helo figure out if a 8 is Athena? Well… I think if Helo got with a 6 then he is in deep trouble, because 6 can pull deception out of her ______ , but 8 are sort of not up for such kinds of deceptions.
I’ve gotta say ITA- I tried another BSG podcast (in addition to GWC, not instead of!!) and I was amazed at how much the podcasters ripped on the show. It made me wonder why they even watched it and I quickly unsubscribed.
