I have used various GPS systems—though never for something like a car—in some pretty stressful situation where you wanted to know where you were within a meter. I HIGHLY recommend Garmin as brand, Solai. I have used others, but they are my favorite.
Solai,
I received a NuVi as a gift for Christmas, though a model a bit lower on the food chain than the one you’re looking at. I love it. Display is bright, sharp, the features are useful and accurate. Easy to set, program, etc. I’d recommend a Garmin.
My sister gave me a Garmin (don’t know the model off hand) for Christmas, and it seems excellent! Problem is I’ve only used it once so far. We used it on way home from my Mom’s house on Christmas eve (which is when we got the present from my sister). Right out of the box it had enough charge for the hour ride home, but that was all. But I accidentally left the box with the charger and stuff and my mom and dad’s house. So until I get that stuff back, I can’t charge it and play with it. From what my sister and her husband say (they’ve got one too), it works fantastic. It’s great for when they’re bring they’re son to a basketball game in some town they don’t know too well, and the gps gives flawless driving directions AND gives suggestions and directions to places to stop for dinner after the games.
Both my ex and my parents have the Nüvi and haven’t made any but good experiences with it. I’ve borrowed my parent’s a couple of times now and I love it, it’s easy to use, reliable, it updates itself, I never had any problems with getting satellite signals.
If you find your GPS a bit laid back try the Vader Voice GPS
Nuvi is good 265 wt is fine a garmin is by far a good choice, its just easier to use really tom tom ain’t that bad still, be warned though really a map book and a smartphone is good enough, I mean I run Android which means free turn by turn, but iPhone has an app i mean the map book to get you in between where there is no cell service but the rest will be covered, but if you get gps in north America garmin would be my choice.
