I love this quid pro quo scene. If this was an old man and a young woman, Whale would seem so much worse than a dirty old man. As it is, it comes off humorous without being wretchedly lascivious. At least, IMO.
That’s faux suicide scene was great. I’m fiendishly laughing along.
I think it’s “lumina”, but I’ve never heard of it outside of this movie.

Badger, have you ever seen ‘Frankenstein’? Great film.
The original? Of course. Probably dozens if not hundreds of times.
I love the old school horror movies.
When I first saw it I expected it to be really lame. I was blown away how deep and disturbing. Bride of Frankenstein was even better.
Just think about that.

He was a nineteenth century geek.
Thanx. I thot maybe they just made up an umbrella drug.
This movie gives an intriguing insight into both films, actually right about now, in fact.
Did Whale call Karloff dumb?
I just didn’t recognize it by that name, since it’s been generic for about 60 years.
I love seeing the actors off camera. They are so accomplished and then they turn on the camp.
Mmmmm, cookie.
checks room for GR
Fraser’s character is a jerk.
That would be “Marry, Frak, Kill”, 1950s-style.
