This is a perfect example… in a society where Companions are legitimate, high-class, socially acceptable, how/why are there still places where attitudes like that are accepted and even praised. depressing…

This scene is a major reason why it kills me the show got canceled. Inara weeping over Mal. The tension of their relationship was one of the great things in this show.
Mal couldn’t give the whole truth about Inara’s feelings, because… they are the best at not communicating them to each other!
