I love the Silmarillion
I love the look on Legolas’s face: Like he can’t even comphrend death—especially the death of the eons-old Gandalf.
Another thing that is so amazing about this film. As it goes on it just gets better.

The Silmarillion is awesome. I recommend it as an audio-book. Easier to digest that way.

He’s the comic relief while Merry and Pippin are quiet.
Which cue is it?
My brother took my copy of the Simarillion and never gave it back. 
It does take a while to get going. There are a ton of characters to keep track of. The first time I tried to read it, I didn’t even make it to the creation of the world.
only Galadriel has multiple points of light in her eyes, gives the look of starfield in her eyes
Bloom actually conveys that pretty well. Maybe he just needs a good director.
the makeup in this is awesome - look at the veins in the pointed ears when the light shines through them
