Eddie Izzard: Circle 11/26 @ 11 PM

you too, sweetie. it was great to have you along tonight

Good night!!! Show that turkey who’s boss.

and massive props to Thot, without whom I would be Kearaless. as one of the graphically impaired, I must rely upon the kindness of strangers–well, real-life strangers

So, everyone else has gone to bed. Now it is down to you, and it is down to me. The battle of wits has begun!

Umm… yeah, ignore that. My brain has been stuck on “Random Movie Quotes” setting all day long. I think it’s broken.

no problem. I love it

oooh Gina Torres guesting on Bones. I wonder if Boreanaz hit her when she came on set. or if she tried to enslave them all

ETA: oh, wait–you’re not an Angel fan, are you?

Not a Buffy fan, but definitely an Angel fan. Gina Torres and Boreanaz on the same set again is a hoot!

Hehe… I’m watching Bones also!

wow, how does that even happen? Angel, but not Buffy? does not compute

Yeah, by the time I got into that stuff, it wasn’t too late to catch up with Buffy, I had missed too much stuff. I’ve seen a handful of episodes in the earlier seasons, but that’s about it.

And Angel, well, I thought Fred was just so damn adorable, so I kept watching.

I can see that. didn’t Joss say once that Amy was the most beautiful thing he’s ever filmed?

but you really should give Buffy a try. (seasons 1&2 are available on hulu) if you like Angel and Firefly, it’s a sure thing

The character Winifred was just so perfect. Beautiful, lovable, endearing character you want to root for, played by one of the most unassumingly pleasant and devastatingly beautiful actresses. It’s the kind of perfect storm Joss loves. Like Kaylee.

I have a feeling my thanksgiving might entail Buffy season 1 marathon. Thanks!

This Mrs. King character on Bones, I was just thinking that she looks awfully familiar, like I’ve seen her in so many other shows. So I looked it up, and Molly Hagan’s credits include: Six Feet Under, NCIS, Star Trek DS9, Private Practice, Ghost Whisperer, Cold Case, The Closer, ER, Numb3rs, Monk, JAG, NYPDB, Friends, Charmed, Chicago Hope, Touched By Angel, Murder She Wrote, Diagnosis Murder, Seinfeld, Columbo, just to name a small few. It’s fair to say that this woman has been in every TV show ever made.

yep, one of the first things I saw her in was Some Kind of Wonderful, as Lea Thompson’s snotty rich friend

and in unrelated news, I just saw that Katee’s guesting on Law & Order next week!!!

ETA: I fell in love with Buffy in a Thanksgiving marathon

Yeah, I remembered her face from a really old episode from Murder She Wrote.

Sackoff? I guess everyone’s just trying to pick up paychecks while they figure out their post-BSG career moves. But really though, Law and Order doesn’t even count as real TV work any more. By now, every actor in the English speaking world has appeared Law and Order at least once. I even have a friend who appeared in Law and Order once, and said exactly one word: “no”.

What a coincidence! 'Twas the night before Thanksgiving, and not a creature was stirring, except my laptop hooked up to Hulu…

That explains so much. I kept thinking it was the soap from Fight Club, which, while interesting, really made no sense at all.

I just think it’s sooo cool that everyone is “Kearaing up” their avatars. That’s just awesome.

Yeah, very cool. Probably one of the coolest birthday things I’ve seen here.

(aside from what y’all did for mine, of course.) :o

Sorry about that. I was literally in middle of replying to a post when I feel asleep. I hadn’t even closed out the program that I used to watch the movie! Good thing the Spanish Inquisition let me use their comfy chair.

Jasmine’s great, isn’t she? She’s so wonderful. :stuck_out_tongue:

What? Rectify that immediately! I’m sure we can compile some essential Buffy, but I can’t imagine not watching all of it!

And Angel, well, I thought Fred was just so damn adorable, so I kept watching.

I loved her character right from the start.

“Handsome man, save me from the monsters” just really summed up the whole show, IMO…

That’s awesome. I’ve never heard that, but I don’t doubt for a second that it’s true.

And I loved Illyria, too, although obviously for different reasons. I just wish that the Season 6 plan had time to come to fruition, because it would have been awesome.

(I’m being intentionally vague, since I’m not sure how far you got with the series. I don’t want to spoil anything…)

I have a feeling my thanksgiving might entail Buffy season 1 marathon. Thanks!

Hooray! Just be aware that Season 1, like any SF/F, is a little uneven. It gets significantly better, trust me.

Well, I have a lot of mixed feelings about Illyria. I hate her becase of what she respresents, i.e. Fred’s tragic last days. On the other hand, I can’t completely hate her, because of the little pieces of Fred that are still in her. (And because that black leather/blue hair thing is one FABULOUS getup.)

It does feel like the series ended maybe 3 episodes too short. I remember getting to the final scene and thinking to myself, WTF? I kept searching and waiting for what I surely assume were the inevitable conclusion of the final dramatic battle, the violent catharsis that’ll sadden me and satisfy me at the same time.

But, alas, such triumphantly tragic ending only live on in my imagination, for no more episodes ever came. Abrupt end.

there’s always the comics
