From the video, looks like the choices we make will already have consequences. And, no “get to rechoose our class” either. wonders what happens to Alistair if he left the party wonders if Morrigan will be back if she left the party
Am really late to the game, but I just started last weekend and am battling in the Broken Circle to get the mages to help me with the possessed kid over at Redcliffe. But for some reason I find the broken circle tower to be really creepy and claustrophobic (I can’t leave the place, so I pretty much save at almost every door/floor, heh.) so am advancing really slowly there. One thing though - how do I expand my inventory slots? I keep having to ditch some stuff because my bag gets full, and I have yet to meet a trader who has extra ‘inventory bags’ for sale.
And yes, everyone we’ve met almost always have something derogatory to say about me being a female and an elf. It’s pretty funny.
Most vendors sell backpacks that will add slots to your inventory. They’re usually at the very bottom of their lists of items for sale. The trader at Ostagar had one (actually, you can get two from him) as does the Dwarf trader that shows up at your camp.
Also, what system are you playing on? If you are on the PC there is a free storage mod that adds a permanent storage chest to your camp.
He’s on the PS3.
Also note, that the cap is 125 items for the back pack. At least on the PC. I tried buying another backpack at 125 and the game did nothing except take my money.
On your first play through, it’s difficult to know what to keep and what to trash. I did the Keep DLC for more storage, but hadn’t really needed it after the first couple of times.
I keep certain armors sets (ones that lower Stamina costs) and sell the others (ones that add defense bonus), and that made item management much simpler.
Oooh, thanks! I guess I’d have to hit up that trader once I’m out of the Circle Tower. Counting the days til I get to play again. It’s been too long!.
Yep, that’s what I was doing so far - ditching the lesser armor, giving gifts out and putting rings to/on my team so I could lighten the load up. And yes, I’m on a ps3.
my pack strategy revolves around my current party. i have dog, morrigan, and shale, and i’m another mage (this is my second run). i run through the dungeon, and after i’m done, i cash out, bring a rogue with, and unlock everything. it takes some extra time, but i like my party setup quite a bit, and it lets me bring back as much sellable junk as possible.
I do the same thing. The dungeons dont change and the enemies dont respawn so in many cases you can go back whenever you want and loot away. I also put gear I dont want to sell on allies I dont play with which can free up quite a bit of space.

* Various changes have been made to code and resources to support the Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening expansion pack. Most of these changes do not affect Origins itself. * Some players were experiencing increasingly long load times. A major cause of this problem has been fixed. * At higher levels, non-player characters now receive a bonus to armor penetration. This mitigates an unintentional imbalance with well-armored high-level characters, since armor penetration previously did not scale as aggressively as armor itself did. * Elite-rank enemies (lieutenants) can no longer be shattered. This preserves the intended tactical design of many combat encounters. * Portraits for summoned creatures (like a ranger's wolf) were displaying improperly while in the party camp. This no longer occurs.
Wow, that was quick! I cant wait!
Oh crap, I’m so behind! I got out of the Fade, but I can’t decide whether to side with the mages or the templars, so I’ve been stalled in the game.
Plus I got sidetracked by Uncharted 2 (all the Indiana Jones talk on the podcasts really got me into that game). And yes, I’m playing old games.
Next weekend!

anyone know how long the expansion is? i mean its just an expansion and there charging pretty much for a full game i kind of need at least 20 to 30 hours to make me go out and get it; struggling between God of war 3 or this? cause i love Dragon Age. its great even greater than Mass effect 2; but if this is five hours of gameplay i’ll be pretty miffed.
Reviewers are saying 25 hours. Now, I like to play every little inch of a game so that 25 hours will be longer for me. A friend of mine is a Munchkin Gamer and can finish 25 hours in 10 or less.
So, apparently, it’s 25 hours though YMMV
Edit to add: Apparently the game does not have the same value for money in game play, story or technical smoothness but still worth while. If you are an efficent player you will likely get less than 20 hours out of it.
So I started playing DA:O a month or so ago, got sidetracked, and spent the past weekend playing it for hours on end. I don’t think I’m comparatively that far in Loving my city elf rogue, though. Stabby stabby stabby.
I’ve started looking through spoilers trying to figure out how to get happy endings for the characters I like. While I’ve never cared about spoilers, this time I feel like it makes me a bad person. And, uh… I’m considering getting the mod I heard about that makes Alistair
disregard race and class origin stories in the end if you make him king so you can marry him and be the queen! Yeah. Don’t look at me like that, I’ve kind of loved Steve Valentine since Crossing Jordan first came out.
Ahem. Carry on.
I got sidetracked too. First with ME:2 and now EVE. I’ve started all but one origins story, but I’ve yet to finish the game completely. Since I’m a completionist, I’m procrastinating because I wan’t to get most of the achievements. Problem is, the darn Mage achievements takes like 12 levels each, and if I have to do Broken circle 5 more times, my brain will explode.
Expansion took me around 13 hours, but I skipped things. The last boss…HOLY GOD…beat the crap out of me on normal. I had to drop the difficualy to easy to beat it…i feel dirty for that.
Just reading about playing Broken Circle again made me shudder!

Alternate history where your character dies during the joining. Sounds like a lot of fun. Cant wait to use my ogre to pummel Alistair (I get the impression you fight other people from your party in the final battle)!
