They said they’ll only cut very little so that they can give the last book a proper set of films. As far as the cutoff point, after finishing my re-read last night, I’m going to guess that they’ll cut if off after a series of events in the Forest of Dean.
Brooklyn in da HOUSE!!!
Welcome aboard, Suzette!
I dug Winky. She made me crack-up. First time I read the character’s name I spittake only cuz I was thinking of something else.
Not gonna say it. Think one-eyed monster.
Um, you pretty much just said it…
It’s been a while, but last I heard they were probably going to be cutting 90% or so of the battle scenes from DH. Don’t remember what their reasoning was and their decision could of course have changed since then.
That’s what I feared. It’s so cool when you read it and try to figure out how they’d make it work in a film. To be honest, though, I don’t see how you can cut much from them, particularly the Battle of Hogwarts, without gutting some of the bigger things going on. We’ll see.
Yea i dont see how you can cut battle scenes. I do hope they keep most of the Battle of Hogwarts. I hope its a battle of epic proportions like Helms Deep or the like. Also i really hope they keep the deaths in it. It seems to me that it really needs to go back to a PG-13 rating like Goblet of Fire. The new movie is PG again.
That said, I would have loved to see a drunken Winky. I think it would have added to GoF. Also, featuring the house elves at hogwarts would have left open the possibility of highlighting their bravery in the Battle of Hogwarts.
As long as they keep the
statues coming to life, Prof. Sprout unleashing Mother nature, Prof. Trelawney dropping crystal balls on heads, Grawp, Neville, Hermione’s superior charm work, and the bada$$ that is Molly Weasley
, then I’ll be happy.
what i’ve read indicates that the battle of hogwarts in hbp is almost completely cut because they wanted to avoid repetition with the big battle at the end of dh. that’s the last i read.
I want Charlie and his homies to come in on Dragons cause…it wasn’t in the book but it totally should have been.
