Didn’t know it was supposed to be sleeping gas. I thought that guy dies/died.
The animals weren’t breathing for sure.
I never understood this. How did they escape the gas but Larry doesn’t? He’s not that far from them.
Oh really? That must’ve messed you up as a child.
The music from this whole sequence reminds me of Jerry Goldsmith and Planet of the Apes.
Don’t know why. It just sounds very similar in some parts.
no Larry They are not crop dusting. There are no crops anywhere near you. you are on the side of a plateau
I’ve seen it piecemeal when I was a kid. Didn’t see it fully until I was in college. But, nah.
Might have contributed to my distrust of authority though. d:
Heh. Just saw it. I’d swore he keeled over dead.
From this moment on, totally spellbound.
Amazing.
He said “Los Angeles!”
I took that to mean that he believed that his body was accustomed to breathing toxins and wouldn’t be affected.
The third one looked like it was smiling as it flew over them
All of the stars in the background of the night shots, as well as many distant trees, hills, roads, etc. were special effects and not real. This is true even in non-special effect shots, such as when Neary’s truck is just driving along country roads.
Ahh that makes sense.
I’m reminded of Taken and 4400. d:
I loved the beginning of Taken. It started going downhill as it progressed.
I bet this organist went to Juilliard.
And its awesome that theatre Light and Sound Techs get to have some help in making first contact
I liked Taken overall. 4400 not so much.
Kinda wanna rewatch Taken. Been ages.
And they think, that’s it.
hehehe
That scene took me out of the film. Only some of the people reacted to anything flying overhead.
