I think they have to get some kind of supplies through.
Say hello to my little friend, deus ex machina.
So who is the bad guy that is taunting the good guy now?
Aww, going down with the ship? How noble.
And that is why you wear a space suit when the ship enters battle.
He was on the ship they fought earlier, but beyond that, no idea.
Why is Mr. Smith surprised at how much insurance for a space ship would cost?
Better than the first effort, plot holes that you can fly a starship through.
Because it’s funnier if everyone is surprised?
But some of the dialog was rather good.
Nice touch with the couch at the end.
It’s like telling a navy admiral that ships float and getting a surprised look.
Agreed all around. Pretty impressive for what’s essentially homemade, though.
Of course, if they’re anything like Star Fleet admirals…
Yep.
So my final review, Good dialog, tough to understand why things were happening, plot holes abound, the story is as good as any you will see in your standard computer game.
I’m always surprised that any Star Fleet vessel operates, Admirals that have never served on ships, kids can repair warp drives better than trained engineers, and ther are only half a dozen semi competant officers and they are all on one ship.
Agreed.
Bed time for me. Are you going to be at the B5 Frak party tomorrow?
At least the survival rate for that one ship has improved dramatically as they’ve worked their way thought the alphabet.
It was for me, too. I just wish I’d actually made it to bed before I fell asleep.
Are you going to be at the B5 Frak party tomorrow?
I should be, barring anything unexpected.
A couple of quick notes:
The plot here is actually quite deep – it just ties into a number of existing Eve Online plotlines, which answer many of the questions you’ve identified as “plot holes.”
Expensive ship insurance is always a surprise in Eve. Picture that you’ve just managed to finally buy the ship you’ve always wanted, and after spending your last ISK you’ve got it fitted well enough that it (hopefully) won’t be blown to smithereens the moment you undock. Then you see the cost of insurance. Doh! What happens in Clear Skies 2 is an even more common occurrance in Eve: You’ve been gifted a great battleship. Yay! Then you notice that the insurance alone costs more than your current battlecruiser. Doh(again)!
There are lots of references here to Eve. Have other questions? Shoot 'em to me and I’ll fill you in on the Eve-verse stuff.
Chuck, thanks for the fill in. I’m definitely a EVE noob so I missed a lot of the references, but the dialog in both episodes was great.
